[2.6] BM Fireball Ignite 1mil 4l budget ignites (w/ 5mil 6l ignites)

Added more videos.
Changed some gear (Doedre's Scorn -> Hrimnor's Resolve)
Added some more videos + Core video. First time ever doing Core. You can even see the achievement pop up. I've seen some boss kills, but didn't even know I had to go through those other minibosses. One death, stupid. Had full flasks and not full hp but didn't bother to do anything.

Added endgame Ascendancy switch info.

hi there meest.

I'm a filthy casual build consumer and I've never played witch so pardon the silly question but in his recent frostbolt witch guide, Mathil says that frostbolt doesn't do anything better than fireball. This made me want to try fireball. Since I don't know anything about witches, I wasn't sure if just swapping frostbolt for fireball was a good idea and was wondering if he meant something like your build is generally better than "his" build?

soo, tldr; is this the fireball that's better than mathil's frostbolt?

cheerio and thanks for the guide.

Here's a link to Mathil's full Ele Fireball guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Igfjyzb-F_M

So Mathil was saying that about his frostbolt build in relation to his fireball build he made a league or two ago. Basically, yes it would be better to just swap. But he likes frostbolt's new threshold jewel and mtx so it's just preference.

As for his fireball build, I've tried his tree/gear and my build does way more ignite damage. But he has shield charge + vaal fireball in a 4l so he has more clear speed and can dodge things more easily. Also, he's a much better player so he actually dodges things while I just die to them all the time. Other than that, it's just the differences between CI and life. I make these dumb BM builds just because of the mana problems (especially with fireball's high mana cost).

I think my build's much better than Mathil's for casuals, because it's much cheaper to gear up. CI is still expensive and his needs good opal rings and crit damage while you can get the same damage with just a 4l searing and this BM build. But if you have the currency, you can't really go wrong with a Mathil build.

1. sold
2. when will you make a build that does not require dodging but also doesn't die? I would be your #1 fangurl.

1. sold again.
2. Thanks very much for the solid and thorough reply, I really appreciate it. Going to start leveling a witch right now.
Hi, sorry if this is a noob question.

What are your thoughts about using the Red Nightmare or Mantra of Flames with this build.

Thanks

I've replaced the Witchfire with Rumi's and the Windscream for some more life just so I can be lazier.

But like a block Fireball build? I've played other immortal block builds and they're really good for not worrying about dodging everything. Maybe jugg would do the trick, but elementalist is just too convenient.

It's ok, I'm just a noob so I like answering noob questions.

You would have to spend more points speccing into that marauder part to get 14% block (I think). Then your block would be 32% with searing touch. Seems ok, but... it's probably too much of an investment. Maybe if you were focused on more of what I mentioned above, some sort of much tankier build. Then you could also invest in endurance charges to make the red nightmare more worth it. The added chaos is also insignificant because we're just one-shotting everything anyways and the only things we don't are bosses that we have to use ignite for.

As for mantra of flames, let's take average of 5 fire spell damage added for each buff. Lvl20 fireball does 739-1109 damage so 924 average. Two buffs from golems, one from conflux, maybe three or four from flasks. So 7 max for 35 fire spell damage. 35/924 = less than 4% added. Really not that significant when you can just put in a 25% damage jewel for much more damage (also adds more to the ignites). Really hard to use mantra with BM without going some really expensive low life route because BM usually doesn't get auras.

Should I remove Liege of the Primordial and take Shaper of Desolation ? Which is better ?

Pretty much every ele build goes straight for Shaper of Desolation and then Beacon of Ruin for ridiculously smooth map clear.

Should have put that in the guide. Added it now.
