Development Manifesto: Breach As a Core Game Mechanic

If your setup can't handle Breaches, don't do them. They are optional for you if you don't like them. But don't take them away from us who like them.

They should be in the core game, but not as a Zana map mod. If it would be a map mod, it would become mandatory mod for all maps for those who play the game competitively and want to be efficient with mapping. If you don't care about that kind of play style you can just skip breaches that spawn for playing experience that is more your liking.

I'd like to see breaches in maps only, as random occurrence. They're out of place in normal progression.

I don't have any performance issues with breaches, so they don't bother me. However, I understand other players' concerns. Unlike essence mobs, they're no clickable, so they activate by moving over/next to them. In that case, it's easy to get a little too close and activate them, especially if loot happens to fall rather close to the hand.

If breaches are implemented in regular Act progression, they should be clickable instead.

If the breaches will be more rare, i would reverted the change that the Breach mobs can't drop maps.

I like the idea to have it added to the core game. The best option would be to add it the same way as Essences: randomly and at a lower spawn rate. I think that people that dislike Breaches should ignore and avoid it. It's not like everything in the game should please you. It's not like every build should be able to do all content. If you like doing labyrinth, I respect that; if you like doing Shaper, same. I see egoistic people whining about it because the builds that can do that content doesn't fit their taste. Then skip it and do whatever pleases you. The game isn't made to please only you, but intends to have something for everyone. The more, the merrier. Keep it up, GGG.
I hope you make it into a map/sextant mod. I really hated this leauge.

I agree. Breach is laggy and on the other end you cant see them. Also ill like that the time of the breachs is set a littel higher in the Uul-Netol's Breachstone. ( To littel time after my opinion :) )

Fantastic. Thank you for this. Please add it into the core game much the same way strongboxes and essences are in. Breaches give the feeling of a world in peril and we need more of that not less.
