Nuremberg process wasn't canceled also as harmful associations from real world is NOT welcome in the game (if only it's not historic-based).

It's just about inadmissible symbolism.

Of course almost every imagined thing has some resemblance to other things or takes inspiration from other things. Those sources can be fictional or factual.

BUT:
If one wants to build an unique original world -like GGG did so far with Wraeclast- quoting something so directly is a bad idea in my opinion as it undermines the originality of the world.
Choosing such a difficult topic to copy from doesn't help.

When I first entered the lower levels of the lunaris temples and saw the stacked up bodies of Piety's victims as a german guy I of course had associations dealing with the concentration camps. I have seen lots of real, gruesome photographs from the camps. Been in places where hundreds or thousands of murdered people (!) had been stacked up. Have spoken to a few people who have been around when and where it happened.
Honestly, those levels gave me a pause, but I decided that art may invoke unpleasant associations and may (and sometimes should) deal with ugly, unpleasant topics.
Still, this association was mine, and I am sure players from other places with other histories might have their own associations, concerned with atrocities from their cultural past.

This Nazi-Armband now and the Cap don't allow any association or interpretation. It's a direct, unmistakable reference to a very specific event, to very specific people and very specific circumstances.
Unless the art is explicitly about a specific era, the art should refrain from explicitly referencing a certain era.
There are other, smarter and more artful ways to portrait a inhumane, brutal, monstrous organisation or regime than blatantly copying from one infamous example from actual history.
GGG has proven for a while now that they know those ways pretty well. Keep to it!

My opinion: This is too lacking of creativity, and offensive.

I already suspected u guys are kind obsessed with nazi with piles of bodies on lunaris temple looking exactly like what happened with nazi war.

You can go blood and gore, but dont take this too far with exalting the worst moment in human history in a game again. This is not the game for it, we have no tanks, no fire weapons, no submarines.

I vote for removal of the arm band and put that symbol on anywhere else, its too explicity nazy theme.

I dont feel good/right killing and pilling bodies on a game with reference to that moment of history.

But thats my opinion.

i like Poe so far..playing since OB...yes piety is cruel and has done alot of Experiments..as u can see she has also killed alot and piled them up....

The new Art is a lil bit disturbing...i never thought Piety is a "nazi"..
but the first glance on these new Pics instanly gave me the Nazi thoughts...
that i dont like...
so far iam looking forward towards act 5...hope it will be great again :D

I would like you to back up these claims of yours before belittling other peoples efforts towards civilian efforts. As far as I know germany has been on a constant economic uprise since the end of the world war. In fact, as soon as we started to open borders and joined national alliances like the EU we actually profited big time - not to mention the help the german economy received at the hands of the Americans after the war - a war after which the borders were opened deliberately to prevent exactly this kind of scenario from happening again! If you refer to the refugee crisis - I just want to remind you that a lot of the conflicts in the middle east are direct results of an intertwined global world, and - to put it very bluntly - you should not have the bananas without thinking about the banana farms. The biggest problem our society is facing atm (imo) is rather the growing discrepancy between rich and poor, but that another issue for another day.

And to say it before you can point towards it yourself: I am neither implying that you are evil, nor have affiliations towards fascism. I am implying that you are knowingly or unknowingly ignoring certain logical conclusions and are hoping for a fruitful discussion to maybe learn why you do that and why I think the way I do.


Oh, and for GGG: This kind of discussion is very likely NOT the kind of discussion you would like to have on the forums for you make-believe fantasy game - which is exactly the reason why these artistic references are so unfitting...

What the hell is this? I don’t play this game for Jews to make political statements, but for pure fun and enjoyment—to remind myself that Path of Exile is 1000% better than Diablo III ever was and ever will be.
