edit:
OS Statistics
I just wanted to throw this in here real quick since it is relevant in a way. It shows users statistics for each OS.

Dcemeber 2016
Win 7|...|34.6%
Win 10|.|30.9%
Win 8|...|11.1%
Mac|.....|9.8%
Linux|...|5.6%
Win XP|.|1.0%
Vista|....|0.2%
NT*|.....|0.0%

I assume those are Steam charts, which are always skewed in favour of a specific demographic. In Real World terms, Windows overall lost market share for the first time in a long while. However and perhaps more importantly, Windows 7 is still used by more that twice as many as Windows 10.

no i dont do steam charts unless its the only thing available for that very reason. which i will deliberately point out that it is steam. if you click the link you can get more details, but it is the W3Schools page for browser statistics. since pretty much everyone uses a browser i would think the stats would be fairly accurate actually.

Lol, I wonder where people like me are factored into those statistics. I never use a consistent "User Agent", because like a lot of people, I'm against data harvesting. So, every 5 minutes, my User Agent changes. Including the OS level attributes.

I think if you're going to use statistics, you should rely on something more reliable than browser strings. If you take into account the numerous amount of automated programs scraping web pages daily, these statistics are easy to manipulate. Considering each program submits its own User Agent string, most using the latest OS/Browser strings. The reason for this is so that they can access content, without being easily detected and, resulting in being blacklisted. As you can see, this would greatly inflate the use of Windows 10. However, Like Kellog pointed out, Windows 7 is still the most widely used platform among Windows users.
