Controller support for PC?

Now that POE's announced for Xbox One, the filthy casual that I am would love some controller support for PC gamers too.

Any chance it'll happen?

Thanks, and all the love!

People have suggested that we add console controller support to the PC version, but that would require changing how skills work to support it, and that's not a rabbit hole that we want to go down.

Would of been really nice but i understand Chris logic behind that decision.

more to the point they have been removing some skills because they just don't work with the controller, that isn't something they will do in a game that has been going for years just to please the few that want to use a controller

Ok ok ok @chris, I get your point and it makes complete sense to me, but what about an inofficial controller support where you can at least use it to play caitrain builds where contrller works fine? You know how shitty my controller for poe workaround right now is? I cannot even move my char with it, instead you have to move the mouse cursor with the contrller stick :(

Please give people like us, who enjoy to play with a controller whenever it is possible, the oppertunity to take advantage on that shiny controller setup which you can enjoy on Xbox one.

I BEG YOU!

There is nothing stopping you from using custom controller profiles for something like the xbox controller, you can also use the steam controller.

Yeah actually, you need to change the game itself to bind movement directly to thumbstick, which is highly superior, and much more fun this way.

ARPG games are a million times better with gamepad. Time to face this fact. You definitely lose precision with a gamepad, but you also gain agility. Tons of games don't need high precision, and PoE is definitely one of them.

And since this game is getting Xbox support, there is literally no reason to deny pc uses this superior gamepad option.
No more BS excuses, please.
Grim Dawn works amazing on gamepad, it can easily be done with PoE as well.

For example, a skill which would require a mouse, such as totem placement, could easily be done with gamepad.
If the totem skill was binded to X or L Trigger, you could hold down your button, which should change from controlling your character, to controlling the placement of totem. This can even be sped-up so you can accomplish relatively precise (good enough) placement in an instant twitch.

Not sure why you are persisting in this matter, it's not going to happen.

You may think it is easy but it's not, take a game like D3 where it was made based around console play, you can FEEL the difference in how it works, it's so imprecise and is very limited on the skills, and this is from a company that can sink tens of millions into the problem.

GGG don't want that for the PC version so are not going to add it ever, if you want to play with the controller, go buy an xbox or DIY a pad profile yourself

I persist only to alleviate those of ignorance. And I also don't believe you are qualified to predict the future of gamepad support. Believe me, I know the required work needed to add proper gamepad support. It's not something which is entirely effortless, but is certainly within reasonable scope.

I believe things should be done the right way, perhaps you should also believe this too :)
