An Early Look at the New Water System
Hysterical, I'm sitting here, watching and reading the loads of ppl freaking out about the X-box update, then I decide to play the game and instead of seeing the X-box logo ominously sitting in the news location, I see some shit about water xD
This was genuinely hysterical. awesome, i guess(the water did look rather fake before) but reallly random :^D |

Water, Xbox, talent show and comics, more watered down mtx... nice priorities.
I'm so glad I stopped supporting you guys financially. I could see how you've changed since Forsaken Masters, everything that really mattered to the core player doesn't matter to you anymore, could see it plainly from the horrendous balancing, content and total disregard and disrespect for perm leaguers. " They're gearing up for the wave of new players that will come with the Xbox release. The early levels are way behind the most recent additions in terms of polish. While it is true that these upgrades don't matter much to the existing community, they are a leading factor in new players not giving the game a fair chance. I would expect that we'll see more polish in the same vein. Hopefully another pass at some of the key character animations, and a closer look at some of the less attractive shaders. It looks great. Glad to see GGG eliminate sticking points for would-be players. | |
Who cares about water? What about blood in lunaris??

At least there are a few folks in here that understand how development is actually done.
For those that don't...he is going to have little to do with issues of latency. Nor should he. He will optimize and improve the physics coding, and possibilities within the game. This is good! I imagine this water will actually use less resources than the current version. So those complaining about more excess usage should take a deep breath, and relax a minute. Do people really even understand what the initial programmers had to accomplish as a small team, rather than a much more robust team, with specialists? There are a number of things in the original code that simply are not going to be wholly optimized due to the breadth of the system. That people whine and complain about these improvements simply because they think the other improvements must be first are at best ignorant, and at worst delusional. Tracking down sources of latency can be ridiculously hard or slapface easy. Since some of it is pretty new, it cannot likely be nailed down instantly. How long do you think that the water project began? Likely beforehand, yes? Then stfu and appreciate that GGG is sharing their internal workings. This is a big reason why some folks actually appreciate the company (and the fact that they have thoroughly explained their philosophy directly...and it is good!). Even if they do not do what WE want, they continually have made the game a better experience in damn near every way. Last edited by kramuti on Jan 19, 2017, 11:46:47 PM
