Firstly I was surprised , but when u think about all stuff around....
1. there are 32 and 64 bit versions working on outdated (understand crappy) engine, all have to agree with that! So, why not moving to other engine? 2. both versions are quite poor optimized (which is true even when someone may disagree) 3. while choosing a new platform, focusing on minor platform (minor - sales on PS4 are 2:1 to xbox, so xbox is really a minor market) is just meh.... there is one big market completely missed - MacOS 4. MacOS should bring incredibly more users than xbox who also "produces" more operating profit to GGG As a linux user, i'm just praying to see one day any native version for MacOS/Linux. Latest DX/version updates of the game are unplayable on my RX480 and linux even with well configured wine. There's no problem with my PC, because a lot of other games running flawlessly... it's just disappointing... makes me a really sad man. There is a plenty things to fix before reaching a new market... I really hope, that GGG think twice before making this move... So, let's see what will happen in upcomming months... Ive seen a lot of hate on here for the Xbox port but it is a good business investment. as the game is right now its not a very casual friendly game that means its locked into just hardcore players or passersby. That means the money and company development is gated at just the hardcore income. by porting it they can garner a bigger market. More people=more income. that's good for everyone who plays the game to some extent or another.
All that aside do you really trust GGG so little that you think they are going to destroy the game that you, myself and im sure GGG loves by porting it over and turning it into "casual poop"? Ive loved this game since beta, sure they have nerfed builds i played or made some content to easy or hard but all in all ive had a great time playing this and have sunk many an hour into playing, i for one am happy to be able to share this game with some of my Xbox friends. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and not jump to conclusions about what may OR may not happen to this beloved game. |
