Wow I'm impressed by the amount and quality ! I miss the Shaper drawing with the guardians in there, but I guess there were too many good ones to choose from !
This also shows the playerbase is growing if there are so many submissions !

I couldn't disagree with you more. When i first saw The Path it blew me away (and kind of depressed me in a "i no longer have a chance" kindof way. xD)

But in all seriousness, i think what makes it so beautiful is precisely what you criticise. The fact that every square inch was filled. It proves Thiagolehmann cared a lot about the entirity of his piece, to the last penstroke. It looks like he designed and executed everything according to a strict goal.
I think it's very admirable - other artstyles, such as painterly, have it easier, they often allow way more sloppiness.
There are smaller and less-defined details/ decorations because you are not supposed to look at everything at the same level of scrutiny. Those are the rest areas for you eyes. And i think it looks way better than just leaving areas empty.

My favourite bit on the pic is Merveil and Daresso looking towards each other from two ends of the same world. Well bloody done m8. I'd have picked it to be top 3 without hesitation.

Ironically, the ones with original lyrics didn't win anything (yet). I've seen a few acoustic pieces, and I myself had written a song about the first act of PoE named "Welcome to Wraeclast", but none of us made it to the top. Now most of us who did that actually wrote something ABOUT PoE from scratch, recorded it and mastered it. Somehow, by spamming samples over an admittedly good EDM track, most of of them won. Can't say I'm a little salty about this :/ (Minus that piece from Top 3. That was amazing.)

On the side notes, congratulations to all the participants! Still hoping for that runner-up tomorrow (and damn, some of my favorites like the GGG light-up box didn't win).

Also, that Discharge build looks pretty fun actually.

Edit: Actually, the time and effort put into a piece of music that's properly recorded, engineered, designed, written, planned is more or less the same as any effort of that card game. Any form of art- music, drawing or that card game- takes dedication and effort.

haha yea feels bad man, i waited weeks on GGG to send me some voice samples of the shaper (aTension told me to ask them) and in the end i have to enter with an unfinished track to be beaten by some random piano piece. As you said; salt salt salt

I'm super glad that GGG increased the number of winners. I think this gives more hope and incentive for everyone that pretends to participate a contest, in a community that is expanding and has a lot to show. Also judging art is a very harsh and personal subject. By increasing number of winners, I think it helps a bit to ease this task. :) Some of my favorites entries didn't get here so I'll wait for next week runners up.

Another thing i don't like about "The Path" is that despite Shaper is real final boss and can mop the floor with Malachai any day of the week all what represents him is a tiny compass below Atziri who is smaller than Malachai too...and where is the Bandits? This is important part of the game as well. Seems like artist thinks that Curtains are more important than Bandit choice in the game. Also...Kaom, anyone? I like that Daresso and Merveil look at each other but Kaom is important character as well and he should be huge too :P
