What happens to stash tabs after the league ends?

I started playing POE few days ago and It is really good game. I am still learning basic mechanisms and stuffs. As I am enjoying the game, I feel like supporting it by buying some stash tabs.
But I am not going to play and grind that much in this league. I am planning to learn the game as much as possible and start the grinding and trying high end builds in next league.
My question is if I buy stash tab (Currency tab as example), will they remain in new league or I have to buy again? I know the items transfer to standard league but I dodnt understand the "remove only" concept. I dont need items o my current league in new league. Just wannaa know will my tabs remaining in new league? And what about cosmetics? if I buy some this league, can I use them in next league?

All of your stash tabs are sent to standard but are added as (remove-only) stash tabs. You will have all the extra tabs and can let them sit for years if you wanted to, but once you remove an item it cannot be placed back into the remove-only tab.

However, I have not tried this with currency, essence, divination, or quad-tabs.

Your stash tabs will go to stash tab hell called Standard league (HC variant if you have live character at league's end). As above poster already mentioned, all your accumulated gear and currency will be moved to Standard and placed in remove-only tabs. This is main reason why I stopped playing or even logging to Standard--stash is now horrible mess of 100s of tabs full of crap from old challenge leagues.

wait what?? (i also started playing this league).
so when you want to play the new league do you still keep the tabs? but they are just empty

When you buy tabs you get them in all existing leagues. When new leagues start your stash in them will have as many tabs as you've bought (plus the four default ones). So yes, you get to keep your bought tabs forever and don't need to re-buy them.

I've been around for years, and have had to clean up the (Remove-Only) tabs after each league ends.
I have no problem with those tabs disappearing, as I already have that many tabs in Standard.
Yes- I play Standard League too, and keep it neat and tidy.

Now what is difference is the introduction of SPECIALTY TABS.

UNFORTUNATELY, when I started playing Abyss League, the CURRENCY TAB which exists in my Standard League account DOES NOT APPEAR in the Abyss stash.

Today I broke down and bought a Currency Tab in Abyss, cuz reasons.

Now MY QUESTION is a variant of the O.P.
What happens to my Currency Tabs at the end of Abyss League ?

Remember, the Read Only tabs are simply loot filled tabs provided as a conveyance from a challenge league. MUCH DIFFERENT is the CURRENCY TAB, or the new Map,Fragment,Essence, etc Tabs.

I have Currency Tabs already, but they don't appear in Abyss. When I buy it in Abyss:
WILL it come back to Standard as a Remove-Only Tab or a Keeper Tab ?

I think this is a matter economically distinct from that of the loot-filled remove only tabs.

I don't want to buy one of each of the TOTALLY COOL Specialty tabs in Abyss, if they are going to disappear at the end of the League (I have over 100 tabs as it is, and I can make do). But if I can get in Standard at the end of the league, it feels like less of an economic loss.

Actually, It feels like an economic loss to buy Currency Tabs in Standard and NOT SEE THEM IN THE ABYSS LEAGUE when I initially joined... really felt shady.

Just my 2 cents but for a long time player of the game you're not thinking straight. Probaly you've named the specialty tabs and lo and behold in the new league there are no named tabs. If you take the time and look at the total number of tabs you should have noticed that they are all there and the specialty tabs are on the backend of the row of tabs.

As 1825DH has said, the names and positions of your tabs are changed on a per-League basis. If you log into a League you haven't renamed or repositioned a tab in, it'll be at the far-right of your stash with a number for a name and the default green background colour.

One thing to note about remove onlys. If you buy new tabs, the ones that you buy will "convert" remove onlys to the ones you bought rather than giving you new empty ones. So if you want "new AND empty" you need to rid yourself of remove onlys first.
