if i had to pick between faster attack or lightning pen, which is better? for bosses i always have orb of storms + two curses up, but while doing trash i rarely use it.

Also, what is the purpose of cast when damage taken vortex?

For 5th-6th links I would choose between faster attacks and elemental focus. L.pen is too nice, especially if you meet resistant monsters. Between elemental focus and faster attacks I would prioritize faster attacks unless you have vinktars, because shocking especially tanky stuff is nice too.

You're struggling with survival not because you have low es. You don't have any sort of stun protection. You need that enchant on boots or Valirium ring for the time being. Bladeflurry is a channeling skill, CI is VERY vulnerable to stuns. You don't channel = you don't do damage = you don't leech = you die.

Also, in ascendancy you went for +1 frenzy charge first instead of immunity to elemental status ailments. Which means you constantly get frozen, shocked and ignited. And you have Vinktar's to boot. And breaches.

I would strongly recommend taking ascendancy in this order: Way of the Poacher(frenzy charge generator) - Quartz Infusion - Avatar of the Veil(elemental status immunity) - Avatar of the Slaughter. Especially for CI, especially this league. +1 frenzy charge and damage bonuses are nice, but safety first.

Head and body armor. But unless your es is way lower than 7k and your resists uncapped, I wouldn't bother before addressing stun, shock and freeze issues. Every time you use vinktar's you take 50% more damage for the duration.

Just respecced as you suggested where should i put the 3rd fertile mind jewel?

cool thanks for the info. i just managed to six link my chest so thats the pen/faster attack problem taken care of lol. Can you take a look at my gear and see what upgrades should be prioritized? im at 6.8k ES max resists and have vinktars. still feel kinda squishy tho.

Two questions: 1) Why aren't you using Vaal Discipline?; 2) Why Ele Weakness instead of Conductivity?
