I honestly can't help you finish merciless yourself if my leveling guide isn't working out for you then just follow any other witch leveling guide until you get to consuming/mantle.

When I first made this build I didn't "follow" a leveling guide or anything. I didn't have trouble finishing merciless because I know what generic leveling items/uniques to use . It's not rocket science to level on your own. You don't have to follow a set "guide", you can just pick any good leveling skill and use it. Min/max your gear & defense and play safe. If you die then it's probably because you have too low health, or you're not running temp chains & blasphemy, maybe you didn't take enough health nodes, or your pathing wasn't the best on the leveling tree, if you did labs and got your defense ascendancy.

To tell you the truth, I didn't even plan to make this build. I started off as occultist and planned on making some sort of chaos miner but never thought about FNM. I was set on firestorm. I literally only started on the build at around level 70. I was just getting by with taking defensive passives on tree, and having generic leveling gear, abusing the scaling on firestorm mines, and that got me to that level until I got tired of the trash clear-speed and saw that FNM were pretty decent, then discovered the helm enchant later on... what i'm trying to say is I only start a build after I level the char to merc (probably cause i'm lazy) I just have a general idea for what class/ascendancy I want. The build works best for end-game, not for leveling, I didn't make the best "leveling" build, the bulk of your damage and core components of the build itself rely on consumings/mantle early on as well as occultist ascendancies (es recharge not interrupted, +150 max ES ) until you decide to switch out for 6L regalia ( for more defense ) or go lowlife shavs ( for massive offensive boost/decent defense).

Looking at your present gear and passives, you're still stacking ES nodes on tree and items.. then just switch to CI. You haven't done a single lab yet. You don't need the damage from maligaro's so just run ES gloves. If you're running dual consumings then why aren't you using mines? look at how many mine nodes you took on the tree. Your amulet has no ES or life on it, fire damage is too weak, moku's isn't the best choice, and your belt is life-based. Your skill-gems and supports aren't good, fire penetration is useless when you're converting a bulk of your fire damage to chaos, reduced mana isn't necessary at all ( unless you're self-casting which you are ). In general you don't seem to be following my leveling guide so I don't know why you're complaining.

excuse my extreme noobiness but i saw in your leveling guide at 53 you were mentioning using the duel consumings/mantle at that point. the only ones ive seen on poe.trade were higher level than 53. can they be level 53 too? again sorry im a very big noob.

Consumings at 53, mantle at 65. Using high ES chest is better than skin of the loyal but mantle is best up to 80, then switch to high ES regalia since you already have a lot of damage.

I just cant seem to fit AA and Discipline on blood magic(20/20) when going low life even with a lvl3 enlighten. Is there a requisite before doing this combination? TIA.

I went to templar side for -12% mana reserve. You can look at my char's passives @shortofperfection

I thought orb only gave extra dmg with level but I guess I was wrong :P , it won't help much to gather on single-targets but for packs it's nice to have, so level it for sure!

With proper Wither setup (Inc dura + Fast cast) it can go even higher :o

I already use a wither setup, the build just got too out of hand in terms of single target, shaper just completely melts when you go LL & fully optimized gear it's like two times faster than the vid.
