[2.5] Pentagolem Hellfire - How to play PoE while watching TV(Shaper/Guardians)

Hi I just switched over to using a +3 bow w/ lv 4 empower and im wondering which support gems you would use for this setup? I was thinking of dropping controlled destruction.

Same gems as a +1 chest. But you just lost 2 golems so really you're gonna be doing a lot less damage.
Crit Shockwave Totem 650k +: #1657327 / Crit VMS (1 mil DPS): #1511368 / Crit self-cast spark: #1565708
1.3 crit firestorm: #1280086 / 1.3 crit Ice Nova: #1219809 / Flame Nova (sire of shards incinerate): #1359847

Ah yes it feels that way, so even with only a 21 golem and no +1 chest, i would be better off running the lv 4 empower in there instead of elemental focus? I'm not willing to vaal a 116 hp 766 es tri res vaal regalia lol, maybe when the season ends.

I want to know why you run controlled dest. instead of elemental focus. the % more elemental damage is higher then the % more spell damage. Is the more spell damage somehow better, are the spells not purely elemental?

Is it due to being able to ignite being stronger than bit more crit and ele damage? That is surprising to me because the way golems deal damage (to bosses) seems to be very much rapid little pokes rather than huge hits, ignite dealing 20% of just one of those hits vs all those little hits having ~2% higher crit and 5% more damage. But for general clearing, I suppose ignite is a nice QOL thing.

Sorry for all the questions, just really got into this build recently and am nearing my endgame

We don't have anything to increase golem crit chance and crit chance cannot be lower than the base so controlled destruction doesn't reduce the crit chance of golems. That leaves you with a bit more damage vs a chance to ignite (which happens constantly vs bosses, where it matters).

It's not a night and day difference, but on paper controlled destruction is better.

I was not aware. Thanks.
OP: First off, thanks a ton for this guide. I've done a mid season switch to this build and I'm loving it. Very fun and powerful and I appreciate all your feedback too.

Can you please address the question regarding whether a united in dream hybrid type build is useful? Something I am thinking of testing is one clayshaper, United in dream, and ditching my lightning warp for a 4 link srs setup and going 4 golem with srs.

Would appreciate if you have any thoughts on how United in dream may or may not fit in somehow. Thanks again.

Not that guy but it would seem like you would have to run Added Chaos Damage for it to be worth anything at all and even then i would think a Scourge is better because of the higher raw minion damage if thats what you wanted out of the weapon. Can't imagine running that 50% reserve aura.

I may vastly be underestimating how good that poison would be with that aura+added chaos though

It may be worth noting that this build requires 7ex worth of Jewels.

I leveled a character to 36 before I noticed the price of the items you've specified as a core requirement.

(just so others don't come to the same realization).

Thanks OP.

I've covered this before. United in dream is not good because you cannot convert your minion damage. So the only way to get poison added is to use added chaos.

Losing a golem and a gem link is a waste.

Here is the gear I'm currently messing around with. Apart from getting all gems to 20/20 what should I upgrade first?
