LAB is not fun

Your argument is the whole game is full of dumb repetitive shit, so why complain about more of that?

You don't even like the repetitive bullshit, yet it's not ok to talk about it?

It seems you are arguing against your best interest, it's bad to want a better game even when you agree, with a lot of the problems...

God, your mind works funny...

"The whole game is the same shit! I hate it! Give me more! please MORE!!!"
One thing is to make a game inspired in another one released 20 years ago.

Another one is to ignore the objective improvements games made in those 20 years, and deliver a game that lacks features that existed in the '90, or are the norm in 2016.

Now, if you wanna make the game harder, that's another discussion.

Making the game annoying, a.k.a. hard to enjoy, and make the content hard to beat, are two different ideas.

I cannot stand doing labs, even trials are very tedious to do. But I have to because that's how you ascend a character in this game. Maybe we can come up with alternatives to ascending characters, hey it is a option you know.

People have options already

Exactly, and one of those option is "add Boem to ignorelist".

I don't think that one is even up for discussion, games like this are friggin fueled by repetitive bullshit. If you remove some it will be replaced by something else, you might have noticed that whenever devs add some new chore to the game they will streamline something. That's because a sweet spot exists, as soon as filling out the atlas over and over starts becoming boring they will remove one difficulty so levelling becomes less of a hassle.

Many never realize it, but that's why we play these games over and over, the feeling of familiarity is relaxing, you just need enough variance so each playthrough doesn't feel exactly the same.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

People have sometimes had some difficulty putting their finger on what they don't like about labyrinth. They say things like, "I like trap game play, in other games but I don't want to play it when I play PoE." Your very insightful post may have better articulated an issue with labyrinth for some people?

This is very true, and it points to the heart of the problem with identifying tedium in the game overall as somehow a defense for the tedium of the Labyrinth.

The analogy is broken from the get-go, because the game itself is not tedious for most players until AFTER they have played it over and over.

Labyrinth detractors, by contrast, are (generally speaking) not calling the Labyrinth tedious for the same reasons. Most of them found it tedious on their very first run through it. I know I did.

I found Labyrinth boring, tedious, irritating, and frustrating from the first run as well. It only generally got worse the more times I went through it. The only runs where the bad attributes were reduced for me was when I was way over leveled and rushed through it, basically not caring if I died to the crap. It wasn't fun just less tedious. I have done it at the "right" level a few times and found Izaro a very fun boss encounter but definitely not worth the tedium of the traps to get to.
