Essence Stash Tabs
Essence Tabs look pretty decent to me. A lot of people seem to be wanting them to tier up from left to right, but that would either skew the tiers to not line up vertically or change the layout drastically. I personally prefer it to line up by tier. The tab I had devoted to essences was set up in a very similar fashion, coincidentally tiers went from right to left as well. That is to say, I would be happy to use the essence tab as is displayed.
The only addition I would suggest is to have an option to manually upgrade specific essences, because sometimes I just want one more higher tier essence. As someone with a pack rat mentality I never want to dispose of all my lower tier essences, since they serve other purposes in regards to leveling new characters or crafting (Even tier 1 essences make any item a rare, there are practical uses for this). On a side note, I also read someone say that left to right is a standard the world over or something along those lines, that is entirely false. At the very least, Chinese can be written and read in any direction. The main reason many books are written to read from left to right in Chinese is because non-natives are used to reading from left to right; but to native Chinese people it doesn't matter. We read from one direction, if it doesn't make sense, read it from another direction. The people who are complaining about the business side of things, as in the fact that they added new currencies and are now adding tabs to get people to "spend money", I don't see the problem. Other gaming companies sell game changing items, such as equipment or stat increases. That Path of Exile remains a game where money simply buys convenience and visual appeal is conceptually and philosophically aligned with my belief of what a micro transaction game should be. That is to say, it fits my personal belief and opinion. For those that want a free to play game to offer every possible convenience free of charge; go develop your own game. You will have access to everything you develop at no additional cost. (Let me know how much time and money you spent developing it though, and see if $4 for a tab is still a problem to you.) Last thing I want to mention in regards to GGG creating and selling tabs is that keep in mind they're selling these as permanent additions to your stash. They could have easily sold them as a per-league unlock, and bundle stash tabs (Currency, Essence, premium tabs, guild tab, whatever) as part of a supporter package every league. It's fine to consider what isn't available, but don't forget the benefits that are given to us. Don't take them for granted. I do apologize if the wall of text is an eyesore. I've never been good at being concise. |

It looks awesome, i will buy this when it hits the shop, only thing i would change is make it lower tiers left to right in both rows (yes its my OCD, talking here).

I think they layout is very nice I would still rather see a div card tab though ;)

Would it be possible to sell a tab that is just a regular stash tab, but only holds essences? The benefits would be that they could stack to 5,000 each and people with CDO (It's like OCD but the letters are in order) can arrange their essences however they prefer.

It has been mentioned already so this is my support for that suggestion.
Rather than only one option to upgrade them all, have also a small button right next to each row that allows you to just upgrade those essences. I believe there is space enough to add that little button. Otherwise it looks great and I have it on my what-to-buy-next-list. ~best regards |
