The end-game content (bosses) you are referring to consists of 3-4 predictable abilities, dealing with these does not require professional skills, just simple logic.

More importantly, do you think developers would like to spend any amount of time at all in developing such content, as you suggest, that would just allow people to face-tank everything regardless?

If the bosses consist of 3-4 boring, basic attacks, then I fail to see how they spent some kind of exuberant amount of time creating them when I am pretty sure someone could have came up with the idea for most of them within a few hours. They aren't fresh or well designed bosses (to me), so why should I not melt them when the most difficult part about them is essentially the fact that if I get clipped in the toe by an attack animation I just die? If they want me to not want to just cheese the bosses down instantly, why make them so tedious and uninspired? You said it yourself they boil down to 3-4 predictable abilities.

You are putting words in my mouth, reading what you want to read in an attempt to make your point valid. I did not say that they were boring or basic. I said, as you can see, predictable and dealt with using logic, not 'professional skills'. How you got boring and basic from that is beyond me.

The abilities have a purpose, as with any game, ignoring them removes any and all levels of challenge. They are not hard, no, but moving around, avoiding things is certainly more engaging that doing nothing.

I get it, some people just want everything without even an ounce of effort. You want to stand in front of every piece of content a win with 1 button, go ahead, enjoy your 'engaging' game play. I'm sure it is very rewarding.

Millennials have been taught that everyone is a winner therefore they can't fathom losing, let them continue to cry and follow GGG's example and ignore them.
Fortunately I sold 2 cospri's few days ago for 14 ex each. You know after big mjolner and discharge nerf I don't care about poe as I used to. This game is rapidly going down on the hill. So I play only occasionally and waiting to move to another game.

What I'm saying is that for end game viability you need capped resists, dps, AND apparently >10k pool of life to not be oneshotted by elemental damage.

I'm not touching phys and boss melee hits at all.

Just random, ele damage from kaom lava balls, shaper cold balls, vaal laser, random strongbox icenova that oneshotted me with 6.8k hp, etc.

That is the only problem.

You cannot have that even with big investment unless going ES.

Casual and new players will NEVER have that because it's not cheap at all. They will just be stuck playing t1-5 maps and skipping the bosses.

"Ah, it's ok, they will drop items and currency and advance".

Sure, in 1000 years, with all those good 1 alteration uniques that drop in t1-5.

I am a new player and I beat all the content in essence league. Getting to red maps was no problem at all. Actually getting to and taking down the t16 bosses and shaper took a while, but it's not impossible. I did not get to the point where I had one of those uber-meta-builds that just facetank everything to death, but those bosses can still be beaten by just properly dodging their attacks. Especially the endgame bosses are very fair. The shaper cold orbs oneshot you, that's true, but you can avoid every single one of them.

I think the endgame of this game has some nice progression, instead of getting to the toughest bosses immediatle, which was a lot of fun for me. That's also why I'm eager to do it again this league.

Did you play Hardcore essence?
If not, try hardcore breach this time.
