2.6 "KAMEHAMEHA" Self-Cast RF Scorching Ray Inquisitor/Chieftain

I'm enjoying this build. I usually hate lvling for RF, maybe because I'm so sick of using firestorm for lvling, but I used SR for lvling and it was really fun, maybe because I haven't used it yet. I used a lifesprig till I bought a corrupted 6L, though it'd probably be easier to use a 4L somewhere in cruel.

For gear, I went with Windscream, it lets you move 10 points which can be used to get more life or mana, and they have all res, inc ele dmg, and move speed.

I've also been using Doedre's Scorn, it gives a lot of dmg, and gives curse lvls. I'm thinking about switching it to Hrimnor's Resolve or Formless Inferno, but its crazy getting the 3B1G for my curse setup on them or Windscream.

I'm also using delirium gloves, it makes it easier to get resists and I don't have to worry about Int requirements for Repentance, if anything I'm having Dex requirement problems for rapid decay and temp chains. I'm probably missing quite a bit of dmg from the Iron Will, but the extra dmg on RF is pretty nice for trash mobs

Thanks for posting the build. I have never tried an SR (or an RF) build before. I have a Templar with a full passive respec available and so I've decided to give something new a shot.

I am wondering what I should prioritise in regards to the passive skill tree?

Also, can I ask why you are using an Armour/Evasion chest?

For the chest, he says it dropped for him, so its just because he had it. For the passives, this is my first real RF char too, so I wouldn't say I know everything, but I lvled fairly easy without much dmg nodes

here's my tree lvl 75

I don't have the extra curse, since I had a windscream and they work pretty well, I'm also a marauder, so my build'll be a bit different, I'm planning on finishing up some life and getting the burn dmg nodes next, only at 4.5k life, but I'm doing LSC, and I haven't had too much trouble.

I'm also running a mana flask, It seems rather difficult to get enough to sustain it, but I'm not running AA, so i don't need it all the time, and you don't need any life flasks, since this is RF, ruby flasks have a pretty similar effect to life flasks

Hi! Really great build and detailed guide. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but Singularity increase damage against hindered enemy does not apply for degen damage (RF/SR) right?

Edit: Nvm I just browsed through the above comments and found the answer :D

Hi! Very sorry for the very late response. Haven't been on much lately.

In regards to passive prioritisation, all RF builds always prioritise one thing above all - life regen. So basically chase down all the life regen nodes on the tree first, then everything else. I'd go with life next as you don't really need the damage nodes all that much in the end, but that's up to you.

As for the chestpiece, it's as the guy above said - it just happened to drop for me as a 6-link. The character isn't using it anymore, as explained in the 'Stretch Goals' section, in favor of a Belly of the Beast for the life increase.

Best of luck! :)

Yeah, he's not using Singularity anymore, which is why it's no longer recommended in the 'Gear' section. I just haven't bothered updating the 'My Gear' section since his current gear is anyway shown in the 'Stretch Goals' section, but that section isn't for those hoping to get this going on a budget. For the budget version, use Doon Cuebiyari or, if you can afford it, Doryani's Catalyst.
Hey, build looks sweet. I'm confused as to how you're activating elemental equilibrium though.

See 'Note 1' in the 'Gem Links' section, under the Ice Spear and Orb of Storms links. We use those two skills for activating Ele Equilibrium, as well as Ele Overload.

Btw, this build might end up changing in 3.0, if the Beta is anything to go by. Currently, GGG has changed Mind over Matter to work with degens, which makes sustaining Righteous Fire much easier (i.e. this is a buff!). If that change makes it into the final game next month, then watch this space.

Now with the changes in MOM do you think you could run this with a searing touch? And go inquisitor with the new cloak of defiance, u think its possible to sustain ur mana?

I don't have access to the beta, so I can't test that. Besides, it's probably best to wait until the final set of changes in 3.0 before working out builds.

In case you do, though, from what I've seen from streamers, yes, it looks like we should be able to more easily sustain RF with MoM without needing Rise of the Phoenix. As to what configuration is optimal, though, that's another matter. Remember that investing in life also increases our RF damage, as well as survivability, which investing in mana does not. Also, the MoM version would put additional strain on our mana sustain for casting Scorching Ray.

And it goes without saying that it would use a significantly different passive tree since we'd need fewer life regen nodes, but more mana nodes. Besides that, it also opens up considerations for things like Eldritch Battery, thereby further complicating matters. I can only look into all this once I actually have the ability to use the new changes.

So for now, no changes to the build. We'll see post-3.0.
