Black screen on log-out/quit

Same problem after last patch... black screen on exit, i have to restart my pc every time!
PLEASE fix this!

This thread provides an exact description of the difficulty I have. Simply logging out or exiting the game normally disables my graphics adapter. There appears to be no way to return to the Windows desktop short of a system reset.

I have played PoE on a number of systems and a wide variety of graphics cards and have never encountered this problem before.

Same here doesn't happen always but most of the time i get black screen after exit and have to restart my comp

I have this same problem. Playing through Steam, updated my drivers to the latest version for a R9 380. When I exit the graphics cut out, but the computer is still running. I can hear music still streaming. 1 out of 10 times I can exit with graphics if I go back to the character select screen, log out, and then exit the game from the log in screen.

I have tried a few fixes from other site but nothing works for me. Verified game files, have the latest drivers, tried playing in window mode instead of full screen.

it actually has broken my pc (most likely the power supply was blown by me having to hard reset) my pc works like a dream always, this morning it will not start and it was after poe crashed my computer again, it's literally trashed a my pc.

If there was another way to get out of the black screen then I am totally at fault for not researching it after it happened the first time.. but as far as I know, there is no way so if the poer supply (or something else) has gone through me having to do this, it sucks. I'm still gonna play POE cos it;s awesome, I just really hope it's fixed soon man, I can't have it breaking my pc again.

I searched about the technical forum posts some more. There is at least one alternate thread dedicated to attempting to resolve this issue. It contained one post from a player who stated that setting the graphics option regarding the Direct X version in use from Direct X 9 to Direct X 11 fixed this problem.

I gave it a try and it worked for me also. I can now quit PoE normally and my system will return to the Windows Desktop as expected.
