[3.8] What a Shocking Tri-Element Trapper! [Fire/Ice Trap build][UberAtziri/Shaper Video]
" As I said, Chimera keeps taking forever as he tends to port around all over the place and loves to take a nap on the ledge. Looking at that fight, I actually messed up my trap throws quite a bit, as well. I admit, it is not a clean video, but I just wanted to get a high quality video out for people to see how this build works. Also, I dunno, you must be doing something wrong with those lower tier bosses, then. I killed bosses along the way in no time at all. Except the T13 Warband leaders. Those have been buffed in health far too much. Also, I hope that PleaseBuffTraps is not the one you complain about not being able to kill bosses with, because if so, I am not surprised you got trouble. " Do you have any recording of any decent boss fight except Chimera? Collonade for example..? I loaded you in PoB and you have around 40k dps on Fire Trap. It's not bad, but still low for traps to be viable https://www.twitch.tv/angry_roleplayer

" I get 60k and that's not DPS but the average hit damage. Also, PoB does not properly apply Elemental Equlibrium. I actually get minus dps by skilling it for some reason. So, I suppose slap 50% on top of that damage and you get your average Fire Trap damage... which is only one of three damage skills you use in this build. Edit: I actually fumbled around a bit and figured that it does add the damage of Elemental Equilibrium and BitS if configurated properly... but not the extra damage per Trap from Bomb Specialist. So, without the 9x8% increased damage I came up with a average damage of 92k agaisnt a non-shocked enemy and one of 138k that is shocked. Still, Bomb Specialist is missing, which is a lot of extra damage not shown. Also, remember, this is Average Damage, not DPS. You can throw around 3 traps per second, so go from there. Also, let me see what I can do with that recording. Colonnade would be a bit silly with my equipment and level, but maybe a T15 map. Last edited by MrMoho#0455 on Aug 31, 2017, 4:24:33 PM

" Yeah i know PoB does not calculate most "increased damage" from ascendancies, but still. The only thing i need to know is HOW to kill bosses with traps now. Trash mobs are not a problem, i melt maps in 2 minutes with my build. I think your build is very creative, three traps is quite a lot of "work" to throw. But overall with double dipping gone, ailments are super weak now and all these ignites are hardly 10% of your normal damage. https://www.twitch.tv/angry_roleplayer

" Depends on the boss, but from the looks of it, you got trouble with the type that chases you around. Throw your traps not directly at them but at your feet before running away, preferably while using a Quicksilver Flask. It's a lot of kiting them into the traps with these types of bosses. Also, if you haven't, get Stone Golem. When he taunts them, you got yourself a neat time window of throwing your traps at them. |

Alright, added a video of the Phoenix. In that one, I actually don't mess up for once! Should be also a proper showcase of how long T16 bosses normally take, ergo, how much damage it deals.

How do you level this build? What skills/set ups do you use to get to traps later?

Please do a leveling guide!! Build looks like it's challenging and a lot of fun!

" For Leveling, get yourself Split Arrow at first and a Fire Trap along the way. You could also use Lightning Arrow once you get the chance. Once you kill General Gravius, get Ice Trap, Shock Nova and potentially buy a Deerstalker for like 1 Alteration Orb. From there, you can go full Trapper, and yes, it does deal more than enough damage while leveling! You can combine Split Arrow/Lightning Arrow with whatever until you finally get your traps. Once you get your traps, you can obviously throw the bow out. I know, it sounds kinda short, but there really isn't much to say. Once you kill the General, you can pretty much play as this build. |

Thanks for the advice, I will do just that as I'd really like to give this build a shot and have never played Shadow before. I know in your skill tree section you have a little paragraph telling you which way to go with the tree. Is there any way you could do something in paint like paint different lines in different colors of which way to go? Something like this, https://ibb.co/ezS8j5 <----- that would be EXTREMELY helpful! Thanks! Last edited by adr0it#2208 on Sep 5, 2017, 7:48:58 PM
