Build of the Week S06E03: djnat's Mistress of Agony
I want a botw that makes me say "wow, i didn't know you could do this" like the vaal molten shell one back then.
Edit: I just looked through the build sections of the forum ... BV, Facebreaker, Warchief, BV, EQ, BV, Facebreaker, FB-Warchief, BV, EQ, BV, Warchief, Facebreaker... I know why this week we have generic ED, because it's more interesting than most stuff out there. Last edited by Scherge#6940 on Sep 29, 2016, 8:59:45 AM

uhhhh, why is an average build in BOTW? like, ive seen this type of build hundreds of times lol, its super common >_> does this mean that the next build of the week will be a EQ or even a Lightning Arrow build.

It's normal. You cannot call it BOTW.

I honestly think going Occultist Contagion/ED with CI and using a bow and Soul Strike is the best way to go. The ES recharge is insane, and makes it very hard to die, as well as using a bow with the Decay mod more than doubles what your ED hits, and when it comes Contagion/ED a lot of times it's single target damage that lacks.

" I quite like consuming dark for single target, plus I have kinda fallen in love with whirling blades. I haven't stacked tons of attack speed so its not really a travel skill, more of an evasion tool. Life will be technically better Soon TM Last edited by waskely#1099 on Sep 29, 2016, 12:16:45 PM

" I think part of that can be attributed to one of a few things. These are my opinion from what I see being played for the high level content, don't lynch me. 1) Recent changes in mechanics for various aspects of the game (cast on X supports, V. Molten shell only triggers on physical hits now, etc) disallow using certain set ups as they used to be. 2) Current State of PoE very highly favors the set it and forget it method for success. Skills that you Cast or use a couple times to deal damage while you run around avoiding direct contact with enemies as much as possible. (Warchief totems, poison BV, Massive AoE off screen skills etc.) When a generic archtype of build can be made to get through content as easy or easier, what incentive do players have to try to create unique and interesting builds? 3) Players that DO make interesting builds like to try to keep them to themselves so that they don't become the new Flavor of the Month build. As it's been joked before, BotW has been oft called Nerf of the Week for set-ups getting the nerf gun after being featured in this series. I'm tempted to put together a current analysis of all the build of the week videos in context of the current game mechanics to see which are still able to be made as effectively, or at least with relative closeness. (excluding season 1 where making a melee witch was considered ground breaking :P) |

Might I humbly suggest that BOTW tries to look around for builds that make use of the some of the new stuff that's been added to the game recently.
I know there's no new skills in this patch (yet), but there is, for instance, stuff like this - http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Eye_of_Innocence For example, here's one - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1737363 Here's another build that makes active use of essences (for more than just added dmg or other boring shit) - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1737504 Thanks for your work, Bex! :) Last edited by Exile009#1139 on Sep 29, 2016, 1:54:35 PM
