Hi mate , frist of all really good job for your guide ! But i am pretty bad at this game ! i followed your guide and i have BV whith max 150k dps with sappire taste of hate and atziri flask and 7 power charge up . Thsi is my build

Running T15 maps just fine untill I get to a boss that deals physical damage and get rekt pretty fast. how do you deal with physical damage?

Swapped back to BV.....forgetting to put those nodes back in. Were you aware, that you are able to maintain 20 stacks without those nodes.... :). For farming, yeah the duration is a nice quality of life thing i guess. although 2 - 4 stacks kills everything farming anyways....

But that gives 5 points back to do what ever you wish. Could max the dps a little more with all that tasty tasty skillpoints. I just threw it into an extra ES node, and the 4xphys dmg nodes below vall pact for an extra 40% phys dmg.






Just a neat little alteration.

I use the skill effect duration nodes for several reasons. It all depends on how you play. For me, it makes my life much easier. Here are the reasons:

-About ~2 extra seconds for each BV blade (very important during mapping, waste less time re-casting)
-Helps keep 20 stacks up easier, especially when fighting bosses that have weird mechanics and you have to dodge attacks (the extra duration makes a difference)
-Increases the duration of Immortal Call (really important against physical based damage, our only defense)

However, of course, if you prefer to drop them then that's great too! One of the reasons why I love PoE is that everyone has their own custom build per their preference. (:

It depends on how you are leveling. Personally when I level from 1 to 70ish, I use an essence-drain/contagion build and then I switch over to my main build. If you are using BV to level up, then i'd probably get Vaal Pact asap and depending on your gear/level get the rest of the nodes based on your needs (i.e. Ghost Reaver if you have good ES gear). If you feel like you are dying a lot, get more ES. If you feel like you are lacking damage then focus on damage nodes. Critical nodes I would save until later levels.

You may not be doing anything wrong. Can you post your passive tree? I would like to see all the nodes that you have. Also, when calculating the DPS be sure to use the equation posted in the guide to get the real DPS at 20 stacks.

Immortal call with increased duration support and increased skill effect duration from the tree will give you 100% physical damage immunity for several seconds.

Based on the tree that you posted, you are missing quite a few nodes. For example, the influence wheel, gives you 20% increased aura effectiveness. This will boost your Discipline and Hatred (more damage). You are also missing the damage nodes by the Witch area (i.e. Occultist domination, Annihilation). If you level up some more then you will be able to get rest of the crit/damage nodes and your damage should go up.

Some of your gems in your setup could also be improved (i.e. leveling them up or even getting them to 21/20).

Against Bosses Spell Echo needed?

Before Boss activate Vaal Haste + Vaal Clarity and cast till 20 stacks and go!

You can reach 20 stacks without Spell echo!
You also should remember that Spell Echo doesn't give DPS, only faster stack of blades, but once limit is reached there are no profit!

If Boss isn't someone who you should always dodge / run after, better just tank it and recast BV (without Spell Echo).
Or at least take Faster casting Gem, it doesn't lower your damage!

It's needed (at least for me). There are a lot of bosses that have weird mechanics where they have multiple phases and you also have to dodge their attacks. Without Spell Echo (71% MORE cast speed), you will die a lot more. While Vaal Haste/Faster Casting is Increased Cast Speed. There is a big difference between MORE and INCREASED. There are many cases where you can use Vaal Haste and it will run out before you are able to finish off the bosses and then you would be in deep trouble. The build has enough room to use Vaal Haste, Blood Rage...etc. Mapping is smoother with spell echo with MORE cast speed and it casts twice. If you wish to use something other than Spell Echo, that's your preference. It doesn't change the core of the build.

Hi, thank you for posting an awesome blade vortex build for the Assassin. I have just about followed your guilde to a tee but can only achieve around 900k dps using the listed formula. I am level 90 Assassin with all 8 ascendancy points. I have all required geared, cobalt jewels with increased damage and energy shield, almost the exact same flasks, and tree is only missing the Force Shaper group.

Even with 4 flask running (40% damgage included), hatred, displine, assassin mark, concentrated effect gem, and all 8 power charges, I still can only achieve best of 250k tool tip. So 250k/5.05 (number of cast per second) * 20 = 990k. I don't know what I am missing to get closer to the 895k tooltip dps you have.

My gear is pretty close to what you have as far as stats. I am also at 6200 ES and 1300 mana. Maybe not 100% but really close. I must be missing something. Having the 990k DPS is awesome but curious why so much difference in DPS compared to your build.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
