Video Guide: Path of Exile 2.5: Blade Vortex Assassin Build Guide - MORE DAMAGE! [HC/SC]

Watch this short build video. It will show you how the build performs in high tier maps and explain the core mechanics of the build!

If you have any questions about the build come to my twitch stream and I will do my best to answer them:

Strengths and Weaknesses of the build

Strengths:

- Good league starter!

- Cheap to get going, but with several opportunities to add expensive and powerful unique items further down the road.

- Effective, safe and fast in even the hardest content the game can provide, including tier 15+ maps, Uber Lab, Guardians, Shaper and Uber Atziri!

- Viable for both hardcore and softcore gameplay.

- Tons of fun! Blade Vortex is my favourite skill and has been since it was originally released. This is of course, a subjective opinion however.

Weaknesses:

- Due to the popularity of Blade Vortex and CI, The high-end recommended (but not required) unique items for this build are fairly expensive.
- Transitioning into CI can be confusing and requires general knowledge about energy shield gear and how to use it properly.
- Lightning thorns is incredibly dangerous. Avoid it!
- Can't do Hexproof maps.

Build mechanic introduction:

Defences:

- The final build has about 350% increased maximum energy shield and 15% "more" energy shield from the skill-tree.
- Huge energy shield pool will prevent one-shots.
- Immune to chaos damage.
- Instant life leech, meaning you are typically able to out-leech incoming damage, even from most bosses.
- 5 utility flasks all granting anything from curse, freeze, and stun immunity, while also allowing you to blind nearby enemies and greatly reduce incoming physical damage.

Reflect Damage

Single reflect mobs and elemental reflect maps are safe. I'd advice to stay away from physical reflect maps. It can be done, but it is sketchy.

Why the Assassin?

- Access to all the basic skill-gems required, making the leveling experience much smoother.
- Free power charge generation via Unstable Infusion.
- Deadly Infusion grants tons of crit chance and multiplier, making it much cheaper and easier to gear compared to other ascendancy classes.
- Free culling strike on crits!
- For MOAR DAMAGE

Skill-trees & Ascendancy classes:

Ascendancy Class: The Assassin

Note 1: If you get the 20% reduced discipline mana reservation enchantment, you should spec out of Charisma, spend 1 of the 4 points on the 4% reduced mana reservation node below CI and then spend the remaining 3 on whatever you prefer.

Note 2: That if you at any point need strength or dexterity, simply pick up the 30+ notables in the skill-tree and spec out of them later when you are able to cover these requirements via gear.

Im low life so i can use
Herald of ash+dicipline on life
+Hatred

ATM my Damage pes use is 1055.21
ES 7306
Here my build

I have 9k shield, 11k dmg buffed, 7 charges and 20 stacks. I think is very low dmg but im level 72 i need get more crit nodes
Absolutely amazing build. Few builds deal this much damage with this little investment. It's also quite safe because most mobs either die instantly or get chilled/frozen. I've been spamming Dried Lake with just under 5K ES.

Void Batteries are also cheap as HECK right now, and so are Beast Fur Shawls. Really impressive guide, every step of the way is detailed.
I see there has been a nerf on Energy from within cobalt jewel.

Do I still need 2 of these? Does the Effect stack?

No, Facebreakers got nerfed to being useless. Get Maligaros or something else for gloves. Many choices that are viable for this build.
One thing I noticed is it's pretty hard to generate or keep up power charges on bosses and it really kills my DPS. Mainly thinking of Xoph. Maybe I can facetank him with 2x Vaal Discipline so I don't have to run away. I'm considering putting an Orb of Storms + PCoC link somewhere. Maybe even in a CWDT link? Would be good for bosses and would certainly make keeping power charges up in maps effortless. Could remove GMP + Arctic Breath from that CWDT setup and just keep the Vortex along with Orb of Storms + PCoC. Not sure.

Basically the issue is the build has TOO MUCH crit, making getting power charges really difficult. It wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't using Void Battery.

Anyone got any input?

go CWDT>Power charge on critical support>Increased AOE>Blade Vortex(lvl1)

Check my assassin, mby u find something useful :)
For power charges, I am using OoS with PCoC. It seems to work ok for the time being. When I used LNB guide for scion BV, I used CWDT with BV and PCoC, but at higher levels not much damage was taken so it didn't generate power charges. I had to manually cast 2nd BV linked to PCoC.

I loved the scion BV guide that LNB made and wanted to try shadow build for this league. Unfortunately I found that this not a good league starter. The amount of currency needed to get a decent char was overwhelming for casual like me. (I only buy on trade. I want to play, not manage some archaic forum trade BS).

Is anyone still playing this build for T11+ maps after the BV speed gimp? I am getting crushed at T11 bosses and dont even bother with T12 anymore. There seems to be a serious problem with damage or life leech with this build at my level. The BV hitting slower is making this pretty frustrating now.

Wondering if I should continue to save money for 6L gear and remaining flasks. Or is this build perma-gimped?
Any thoughts from players mapping T12+ would be appreciated.
