[outdated] King of the Forest (Crit version)
Thank you for this great guide, I am quite impressed at the outcome. Very agile and fun to play for casual runs - and actually the first bow build that I enjoy, since I was turned off by the glass cannon dynamics before. Now reaching lvl.80 without any lab at all (because too bored to run :P) and able to play pretty much all non-red maps in an alch-and-go mode. Superb clearing speed as stated, things just melt pleasantly. This is before even introducing Toxic Delivery and power charges in the build. Insane.
The gear's above. It's worthy to note that the build can be set up with not a lot of currency invested in it (I started with an Opus and 5L belly). I have been playing with a Rat's Nest and Gifts from above because the content so far hasn't been threatening, but will switch to devoto's and some better (life/+% chaos dam) rings/amy combo once I move to red maps. Some things to note are: a.) The build is perfectly feasible with an Opus. It has less AoE clearing capabilities and slower as but delivers heavier crits due to the crit multiplier. This means the Reach is a luxury item more or less, so it should not turn away poorer people from trying out the build. You can get a decent Opus with 30-40c and just craft one yourself with 10-20c. I like prophecies so I did it the second way before getting my Reach which I wanted anyway. b.) I switched from Grace to Blasphemy + Temp Chains and haven't regretted it since. Everything becomes way slower and, combined with your move speed, can be outrun very easily. This boosts survivability way more than, say, a 5-10% evasion bonus or hunting for 100-200 life for content that is probably going to one-shot you anyway. This combo could also yield good results with Point Blank for those who want it up close and personal. c.) I will probably never be rich enough to try these +1 arrow/curse on hit gear but somehow I don't really miss them. Sure, they provide huge damage boosts, but this build is pure enjoyment without these extras. |

Hi, I am following this build guide and I am loving every bit of it, just want to ask how can I further improve my character in terms of damage / more health / resistance. Sometimes in merci I can't withstand the damage output of the enemy. I think I need to change my life flask. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Has anybody tried this and the OP's original Berserker version? How do they compare?
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1696139 I haven't made a Marauder yet and was interested in the build but wanted to know if I went Berserker if I would be severely gimping myself. livejamie Last edited by livejamie#0512 on Feb 9, 2017, 3:44:57 PM

Hi guys,
I like this build very much. Yesterday I tried Minotaur for the first time ever and couldn't make his life lower than 90% :( Probably because I need to keep moving when I don't know where he is... he just shows up under my feet and I'm dead... Here are some options for helm enchantments you may find useful: Sometimes I am playing with PURE FRENZY and also with Tornado Shot, and it is very fun. “There are only two ways to live your life. " In my oppinion you have 90% to improve: a) Level of gems b) Quality of gems c) In bow you could have 5 or 6 sockets, even with just 4 linked, so you would have more sockets to use gems d) In helmet you could have easily 4 sockets linked e) Your helmet have 99 life and maybe it is very useful for you now, but probably a Devoto's Devotion has several useful stats that could benefit you more f) Your Body Armour should have evasion, not armour and energy shield g) Enter dried lake in merciless and see your resistances. They should be 75% each (exception chaos) h) Try to have life in all your gear ( +X to Maximum Life ) i) You could have flat chaos in all your jewerly (cost 13 chaos each craft for flat chaos) Those are some of the improvements you can do... “There are only two ways to live your life. " How did you do that ? I have all gear at max and couldn't kill Minotaur... :( “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
