a simple question: why didnt you get the 3 passives raising poison by 70% ? they are at the mid right of screen, just left of piercing shots
|
|
" The build dealt sufficient dmg, it's time for more life ^^ If you manage to get more than lv95, welcome to take more dmg node. Poison node doesn't double dip btw, I would spend for resist/life then use good chaos jewellery (30+% chaos dmg) |
|
you can easily do the opposite, get 70% poison (i know, not double dipping) with 3 points and have res+life on rings (easier, will get you more life if you get 80 in each and costs less, i managed to get chaos dmg only on the amulet, have to craft the +chaos from elreon tho)
btw i just came across another question: wouldnt innervate be more "interesting" than slower proj ? at least for light arrow |
|
" Although using chaos accessories will be harder and expensive, the potential is higher. A 30% chaos dmg worth more than 45% poison node (and those poison node will be worthless when you face poison immune guardian) so 2 accessories is better than 3 node. You can still get life & resist, just that not easy to get perfect. Using lightning arrow should one or two hit mobs, I would prefer 50%+ more dmg (due to double dip) to kill them fast. We crit enough to shock most of the time, and onslaught simply easy to sustain via silver flask when clearing map. Last edited by kariyudan#4976 on Dec 31, 2016, 9:22:59 PM

anyone playing this build on HC? What changes did you make?
|
|
Do you recommend upgrading to a Reach from an Opus? Apart from the Clear speed increase, will boss damage be better or worse? The loss of 150% Crit Multi and around 1.8% Crit chance vs 2 Additional Projectiles? I don't use LMP in my Opus.

It's fun and great. Thank you. Can u check my gear?
Spoiler
Update may be in rings or amulet. But those rings with high resistance are a little expensive and amulet with damage is far more expensive also. Last edited by UchihaWind#6786 on Jan 1, 2017, 2:46:54 AM

:Just did Shaper for the last night to test the build. First time was a failure, but I did manage to get him into culling range (Forget to bring Culling Strike with me). Died twice the second time but finally managed to bring him down. As such, I can vouch for this build.

Spoiler
- Use a Vulnerability - Blasphemy for the curse instead of his gloves (About 6ex at the moment). This leaves us at about 15% left of our mana pool but Shaper is not a problem since you can leech back and continuously deal damage. - Following OP's suggestion, I swapped out the CWDT - Immortal Call - Increased Duration setup for Spell Totem - Wither - Faster Casting setup to do Shaper. At about 5.7k life, it is actually not bad to do Shaper because his lesser attack will NOT one-shot you, making CWDT - Immortal Call obsolete. - Spec into Point Blank is quite an improvement. Instead of a "2 Additional Barrage Projectiles" helmet (which cost about 9-11 ex), Point Blank saves me quite a bit of currency while still provide a good amount of damage. With Vulnerability - Blasphemy setup, you are better off just be close to him anyway. (You can spec out of Point Blank later for mapping) - Death's Opus instead of a Reach because firstly I 6-linked it quite early into the league. Secondly, it provided me with the much needed crit multi that lacks on the amulet
Gearing Progression
Death' Opus 6-linked > QOtF 5-linked/6-linked > Snakebite > Rare boots, belt > Devoto (You are now having quite a nice build going on) > Rare jewelry with %Increased chaos damage and flat chaos damage (elreon 7) (cost me about 2ex to craft) For Shaper: Drillneck +1 arrow (5 ex) > 21/20 Added Chaos Damage gem (2.5-3 ex) > Dying Sun (4.5 ex - 5 ex) > Devoto's Helm "40% Barrage Damage / 2 Additional Barrage Projectiles"
Notes on Gearing
Do NOT underestimate the %Increased Chaos Damage on jewelry. That couples with Flat chaos damage (Elreon 7) is very strong. HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get both %Increased Chaos Damage and Flat chaos damage Leveling multiple Added Chaos Damage to 20/20 and corrupt them all at once. This way you may yield a 21/20 Added Chaos Damage more effieciently than buying them outright. Dying Sun is a BEAST. It helps me dropped the LMP on Death's Opus because of its coverage and high uptime. NOTE: having a "Reduce % charge use" roll on a Dying Sun is very useful as it helps not only for faster mapping but also for Shaper. Death's Opus is strong against bosses with it crit multi. For mapping, it would be better to get a Reach because of the Higher base damage (One-shotting mobs) and Extra Projectiles (AOE coverage). The damage on Death's Opus is not bad either. To me, it only is novelty to get a Reach now cause I had done upto T15 quite comfortably with Opus. If you have a Reach, use it. If not then do NOT waste currency on getting it because you are more than half way of getting a Dying Sun, might as well spend it wisely. This is only personal preference of mine but to me, 6-linking items should only be continue after a certain threshold. This league my threshold is "The item should become 6-link before a 5-link". After that threshold, I would Vorici for 6-link. If you feel lucky with your fusing, you should try, if not don't waste 10 ex worth of fusing on an item like my idiot self here last league. Below is my experience with Shaper, having done him since Essence and finally managed him while using OP build. I don't know if it can be used with pro players but if it helps others, I'll be glad to share.
Note On Shaper
It is doable with about 5k6 - 5k7 life (Mine is currently sitting at around 5k7 life)
Shaper's Frost Bolt
Shaper's Frost Bolt (Frost Orb/That "yellow" thingy) that he shoot out 3 balls a volley is not very deadly for one orb (it can take about 5k life per orb). You can pop your Quicksilver Flask or Blink Arrow away. Taking more than one orb, i.e "facetanking" with this build, you are good as dead. I mostly building up Frenzy and Wither charge here while he is casting this as getting anywhere near him is quite dangerous (The orbs deal cold damage which mean taking hit with one and you are slow, making dodging subsequent orbs harder)
Shaper's Beam
Shaper's Beam (Kamehameha) can chip away at your health rapidly but again not deadly unless you are trying to "facetank" him. Run / Quicksilver / Blink Arrow away. *NOTE* this is the only attack that is safe to Barrage into his face as he pretty much immobile while channeling his beam. THIS IS OUR DPS CHANCE. Try getting near him (avoid the AOE of the Beam) to proc Point Blank and burst him down. The safest area I discover is his back as standing to his rear there might still be a chance for you to get caught in his blast.
Shaper's Slam
Shaper's Teleport Slam. One hit KO IF it registers. What I mean is that shit counts as a MELEE attack and if you are LUCKY, you can DODGED or EVADED it which this build got plenty (Acrobatics + >20k evasion). That being said, it is still a gamble and you should, by all means, Blink Arrow away. However, under situation that it is impossible to Blink Arrow away (i.e your BA is on cooldown, out of juice in QuickSilver flask,..). You can try to DPS him and if this attack does not hit, woah more DPS into his face.
Shaper's funball
Pop his Frost Bomb (Black "funball") that is floating around smartly. Do *NOT* pop it anywhere near: the center of the map which is essential for Zana bubble OR anywhere near him while he is channel his Beam as this can limit your own DPS ground. This ball also deals cold damage and can slow you similarly to his "Yellow" ball but at a lower initial DPS. However, try standing inside the cold ground and the next thing you know you are in your hideout.
Shaper's Portal
Shaper's Portal. This is one of the more annoying thing about Shaper beside his black "funball". His minions are tough as hell and without full Frenzy Charge, you cannot possibly out DPS them. Try hitting your Blood Rage or keeping yourself on max Frenzy Charge, sidestepping from Zana and Barrage them. I did initially think that Lightning Arrow was enough to kill them. Boy how wrong was I. *NOTE*: The goal of this portal is NOT to burst you down. It is to burst Zana down for his next attack and I can guarantee you that he almost cast this in conjunction with his next move.
Shaper's Ultimate Chaos
Their are two key factors in this move: Zana's bubble and the ground below her. As mentioned before, you should NOT have the ground below Zana full of his "funball"'s ground. As such, try popping them during his Portal phase. The other key factor: Zana's Bubble. Zana only pop her bubble if she is still alive during *ANYTIME* of this phase. This means that during Shaper's Portal phase, if she is out of HP and is recovering, you should purposely prolong the Portal phase for her to recover. While inside Zana bubble, you can use Spell Totem - Wither to build Wither charge on him.
- Bring *CULLING STRIKE*. Seriously though, it helps finishing him in his last phase quicker, and the sooner he is dead, the merrier we get. My experience is swapping in Culling Strike ONLY in the last phase. I swapped my Ice Golem out for it but for other you can try swapping out Frenzy - Faster Attack for Frenzy - Culling Strike. - Always stay on FULL Frenzy Charge. Always. If you don't, your DPS suffered and before you realized it, you had missed a chance for more DPS onto him. - Use your flask effectively and efficiently. You only use your DPS flask (Dying Sun, Sulphur) only when you can be sure that you can use the full extend of your flask (or almost full). In Shaper fight, the chance to refill your flasks are very scarce. Dying Sun provides 2 more projectiles so use it wisely. For Diamond Flask you should only use it during your DPS chance when you have 3 or 4 Power Charges. Popping it too early might not yield as much effect as when you are on full Power Charge. Quicksilver should be use to get out of sticky situation OR as a gap closer (though a little bit more risky). - Try to keep your Wither Totem up. It might not look like it but the DPS boost from it is quite helpful. Not necessarily helpful, but it is helpful nonetheless. It is much later that I realized I missed out a chunk of DPS from this totem, which may result in a much shorter fight. - Avoid, Dodge, Run, Kite,... Do whatever it takes to maneuver your character. Dodge stuff instead of taking it. If you want to do a "facetanking" run, you are probably looking at the wrong build here.
Final Thought
This build is very strong. It can start off quite cheap and scale very effectively in late mapping on a budget. It also offer a solid tanky bow character that not much bow build can offer (aside from EA maybe). However, to do the harder content (i.e Shaper, Uber Atziri), you have to invest currency into it (which much like many other builds). Currently in my build, you are probably looking at about 10-15 ex worth of investment which to some people might not be cheap. The candidates responsible for them are: (1)6-link, 21/20 Added Chaos Damage, Dying Sun, %Increased Chaos Jewelry, +1 Drillneck and possibly [Lab Enchant]. You can wonder yourself if it is worth it or not. I'll leave it up to you to decide. Another cool things about this build is its flexibility in tinkering and customizing your character. Admittedly, if there are spare currency, I might want to try changing bits and pieces about this build so that it can offer or provide alternative gearing for a much cheaper solution. OP has done a wonderful job in experiencing and sharing such build to the community and I want to thank him for the effort he put into it. Oh and I won't post anything to Reddit. Gotta keep the prices low on these items. It is already absurd for a lot of people. |

" Yes, I did doubt before until I get a reach drop myself and use it. The loss of crit multi is worth it, I like how it is faster and smoother. For 3-4ex definitely worth it (used to be damn expensive and not worth it) and damage definitely better. |
