Every spell destroys me. Especially storm herald and those poison spitting snakes.
While I have Successfully cleared t14 maps, it has more often than not taken me all 6 portals. I don't know what you're doing to make shaper deathless, but I sure can't handle t14 and onwards right now. Still life to get on my tree, can use non-devoto to get to 5100 life, with Devoto, it's 4800. in the past 2 days I've started doing t13+ maps, I've gone from 24% xp to 0% and around 20+ maps run. Most of my deaths against spell monsters those I said above. Also, life leech is low? only 0.8% of attack damage. If any advice can be given, please help me. I've played a evasion ranger till 91 in standard, so I know how to play evasion builds, but this one just seems as fragile as the yoloRatsNest4500life builds which op so despises. Still, will try to level to get those life nodes. Just can't seem to stay alive for them. Last edited by Dying__Lights#4017 on Dec 25, 2016, 2:54:20 PM

Well you don't need to run T14 maps to level from 81. Just run lower level maps. If you die to spells - ensure resistances are capped, grab some additional chaos resistance. If doesnt help - get Phase Acrobatics. I remember I aslo died to those snakes but I dont any more. Work on your damage, because if you one shot all stuff offscreen - will be hard to get much damage yourself (start with 5L barrage). Get defensive flask. Always run, dont stay in one place and facetank - this build ia not designed for facetanking. Yes this build is squishy, but still playable with rare deaths after you get used to it. Im now level 92 and my last death I remember was to T15 Core map boss, but I was running this map first time ever (Im not very experienced player) and it was corrupted as hell.

That's the trouble isn't it? At this point, increasing damage offsets my resistances, which are overcapped for ELe Weakness in h/o. The only way to increase it, is through those increased chaos damage jewellery and 6 links, which is beyond my means.
The deaths though are not only in t14 maps, I'm saying that even in t11, I'm getting absolutely facefucked by elemental monsters. There is not enough life leech in the tree and I'm reluctant to get leech nodes instead of life as of now. but 350 deaths later, I'm just banging my head against the keyboard right now. With max resistances, I get frozen. With 16k evasion, I get hit by melee and ranged non-magic attacks. Add to that the amazing amount of lag some monsters bring to the table, i die almost regularly. (Yes I'm talking about you, you flicker-striking discharge asshats) Right now, I'll try to level through t8-10 maps. I do not have any doubts about the capabilities of this build once the life nodes are taken, because even now the damage is good enough and will get better once I can get some good chaos damage rings and upgrade to a 6 link. But right now, i'm having trouble. Will update once I can stop dying. |

" I think like the previous poster said, the key is not taking those hits at all. The life pool on this build is large enough that you can take a single hit from nearly anything without dying, but staying still and taking multiple hits will get you killed. Between the high damage and extremely fast move speed, you have the tools to make sure you do not take multiple hits at a time. Also, decoy totem still works wonders. Edit: probably a silly question, but want to make sure you are not looking at your hideout numbers for resistances. For some reason hideout always shows res without any penalties. Make sure you look at resistance numbers in a merciless zone (or town). Again, I'm probably pointing out the obvious, but this does still confuse some people. Resistances 169 in hideout. Yes I understand that the build is designed to not get hit. Having played a ranger which can handle content upto Uber Atziri before, I know how these work. But still, either I'm doing something amazingly wrong, or something very glaringly obvious that i'm missing. I'm not facetanking any monster, but yet, I move backwards or sideways out of their range, and bam! one hit from some elemental idiot and I'm YOLO pressing my insta life flask.

Playing this build with a BHC oriented skill tree (just more nodes in life). Sitting at 6,2k HP and lvl 90. Quite easy. Saving now for the Council Bow then I'll do Shaper and Atziri / Guardians.

@Dying__Lights maybe at this point it's not necessary to bother too much about capping res for Elemental Weakness. I'm not capped (but close) so I just swap one jewel to run such maps. Really, try to use Phase Acrobatics and see if that helps for you. I also have -8% chaos res (from Devoto and one ring), maybe that helps. Get your last 2 ascendancy points - then you can remove Diamond Flask, because with Opus you will already be crit capped (replace with defensive flask). Not sure if it's a bug or not - but all your jewel slots are empty. If so - fill them with %life and resistances jewels and get more damage on gear. You also don't run CWDT - try that, or try curse on hit setup instead. One more option - buy Snakebits with cast Temporal Chains on hit, they are cheap and seems not bad (use them myself). Replace Herald Of Ice with Arctic Armour (you don't really need that additional cold damage in your situation).

" Yep probably a bug, All my jewel slots are filled with life and +chaos/projectile damage jewels. With Arctic Armour, won't Mana be an issue? I run Herald of Ice for the freeze on crit. I used it on my ranger for a bit of a defensive setup. I will try to incorporate the life+res jewels in the tree. Uber Lab will be the next option. I'm still looking for a carry through. |

I can honestly say that I love this build. Even in group settings the pure damage is enough to destroy anything that might hurt you. The biggest thing people need to get through their heads is that YOU CANNOT FACETANK things. you have 70+% movespeed for a reason, gtfo the attack. If you have issues managing frenzy charges, you need to work on that. Toxic delivery is insane for damage, and there is nothing you cants Shoot, kite, kill. 6l is a huge boon, but it's not even required. Even without the %Chaos rings, my character has yet to run into anything it can't kill through movement and barrage. I tip my hat at the OP for playing a bow build I actually feel safe and have fun playing.
