Any shaper tips? My DPS seems way too low on this build. I am having trouble clearing the waves attacking Zana. Zana died in one of the fights. This is by far the lowest DPS build I have attempted shaper with, really not enjoying this fight.
Just watching the video he easily has twice my damage and I don't see where that's coming from. I can spend maybe 20-30ex to upgrade my gear, I don't have the vulnerability gloves yet but I haven't seen any worth buying (wrong sockets or min rolls for 6ex) and I don't want to spend the time trading to find some to corrupt.
Oh also important note, vaal shock trap does nothing to Shaper. Shaper is shock immune.

I'll admit that I really suck at shaper, never killed him before but I have gotten to the last phase. I just can't get down the timing of dodging everything and keeping track of which ability is going off all while dodging all the pools on the ground and managing potions/shouts/cooldowns and totem up time and such.
Not sure why I find it so difficult, seems like some people make it look really easy. I think it's just a weird mix of platformer and ARPG controls that don't really mesh well. I can speedrun Super Meat Boy and IWTBG but something about spending 50c or so to attempt shaper is really nerve racking to me. Just makes it not at all an enjoyable fight.

Did you maybe forget to switch in concentrated effect? That would approximately double your DPS.
Apart from that I can't seem to find anything wrong, apart from the two "wasted" strength nodes in the starting area, which could be put towards executioner, although that won't give you a massive increase in DPS.
If you actually plug both your character and OP's character in Path of Building you come out ahead DPS wise, so Shaper should be doable.

Nice catch on those passives, thanks. I know I can optimize my gems, been trying to convert to a lower dex setup but I'm not really seeing much of an improvement on poe.trade for amulets.

The low one corrupted with vulnerability is better that the top one without.
Killed shaper last season (soon will do into legacy, just piling currency with vinktar LOL) but zana never died. Just place your totens in front of the portal, letting adds hit those, not her. Try this.

I can't afford an Atziri's Disfavour yet, I'm using a good dps Axe instead. A Brass Dome is already mine, but hardly any difference to the normal armour I used before.

Here is my gear:
You need more life on your ring/amulet and belt. Try to aim for 70+. Don't know what helmet you're using just know you need life. Make sure you're capped res and try to keep endurance charges up.
I am working on the Brass Dome variation. And I just got an Atziri's Disfavor.
But when I tried to put a level 3 Enlighten in with Artic Armor, per the guide, I was left with 25 mana, or not enough to even cast one totem. That didn't work, so I tabled it for now.
Is there a good solution to this? Adding mana to gear might be tough because of all the resistance need given the uniques in the gear. Is there a passive? Would it be better to look at jewels? There's always a level 4 enlighten, but those are spendy and I'd hate to buy only to find out it gave me 59 mana so something ugly like that.
