Sure. Because game suppose to be without those "Unintentional consequences". That why developers exists and have beta servers.

As a developer to non developer - you cannot account for everything. People make mistakes and considering that testing is done by a handful of people there are no surprises here. Don't be naive thinking that every every combination of basic mechanics is accounted for.
Sure I agree. But if this mistake happens it should be fixed ASAP not after 3 years or more. When people invest time and lot of money around this mistake caused by dev.

Glad you enjoyed. :-) Worth the 30 minutes to make.

30 min of work to nicely sum up so many pages of madness is a great trade-off!
Epic Saga, pure truth!

That was very amusing. Thanks Cipher!

p.s. I just used your namesake to wipe data off some old laptops.
p.p.s. As a coincidental aside, my Mjolner Discharger's character name is Bob, and he has completely lost interest in his op build's dps. :)

I like it. Only at the end it not should be Bob again but John for instance. And this all story would happen to John. etc, etc. After many cycles there would be so many pissed players that game would became dead.

Nerf happens. It's a concept that spans most online games. Player fault? No, certainly developer fault. We can all agree on that. They didn't get the balance right from the start, and now the players with op builds are getting nerfed. Happens. Some players have that "too good to be true" tingling before jumping into an op build. But for those others, sucks for those players, yeah, but it's how you deal with those nerfs that matters more, and matters the most for your own happiness.

The amount of salt in this thread is ridiculous.
You are NOT creative when you copy someone's build, be it CoC/anything with icewall/mjölner. You are just a crying copycat.

Yeah god forbid that someone plays an established build. They're obviously playing the game wrong and if their hard work acquiring expensive gear is negated by obliterating builds, then they fully deserve getting ridiculed by sociopathic trolls who take pleasure in the misery of others and say really edgy things such as "your tears are delicious".

As I said before, there's a difference between striving for game balance and nerfing overpowered skills and builds, and outright crushing them to the point where they are no longer a reasonable option unless you purposefully like to gimp yourself when playing. Notice how GGG is at least recognizing that they might have gone too far with Mjolner by upping the proc rate to 100%. I would be good if they toned down the nerf to CoC as well to make it at least in line with self-casting spells.

GGG is heading in the right direction with the nerfs and trying to make the game more challenging at higher levels, but the outright demolition of certain skills or builds is not the right approach.

I agree nerf happens for sure. I played lot of games. I'm 42 years old so playing games on computer for 27 years. BUT I didn't play the game(yet) where HUGE nerfs are coming every couple months. It's totally unprofessional in every aspect.

REALLY???? Bye path of exile, I had a legacy mjolner and now I have a shit mjolner.

Bye. We'll never miss standaids players :)

For people that have kids and jobs. Standard is all we jave time for. To build a character slowly. Not to sit on our parents basement and finger blast a mouse button 15 hrs a day

No kids, but a steady job, income, and only playing roughly 3 hours a day, before or after going out with colleagues. Admittedly not much sleep, but my coffee machine has been a loyal friend for a while, I don't see her giving up on me now.

Doesn't prevent me from thoroughly enjoying every single league. Even though I usually can't afford more than one overpowered build per league, I'd rather enjoy the new mechanics and try wonky shit with a fresh start than have full mirror-worthy gear once I hit lvl 75.

Around the same as you, just 1 year difference. Did you play Rogue, Nethack, Ultima series, and UO back in the day? Sierra's version of Diablo, Hellfire?

Any ways, yeah, it's a little unprofessional. If I was running GGG or their development team, I'd probably give a light nerf to things now, and warn that they would be nerfed again. Gives people a chance to ease out of those builds. But ultimately, I would have never made mjolner and coc what it is in the first place. That was their mistake. Keep in mind it's not like they intentionally gave you something op in hopes of wrecking your build down the road.

Sure, 3 years is a long time to fix an unintended issue. But maybe it was something that had insignificant impact for most of that time and only when certain updates came into play that this became a big enough issue worth the effort. Again I understand you're frustration, but don't take things for granted because eventually you'll be disappointed.
