This reminds me, an idea I had for these assuming they are coming back for the future. Biggest issue most people have with these is that you can theoretically spend thousands and thousands of points and never see the items you were hoping for, literally ever. For example, I spent somewhere around 1600 points on boxes for kicks and never got the wings which was the only MTX I really wanted out of it. I would suggest in the future to have guaranteed items at certain thresholds. For example, a different piece of one of the armor sets at 200/400/600/800 points spent, gloom wings at 1000. This serves two purposes. One, it's impossible to get completely "shafted" by bad luck, because you are guaranteed to at least get one complete look out of it. This also heavily incentivizes players to keep spending points, because if you are close to the next threshold you know you can just spend a bit more and guarantee you get that item you want. I might get discouraged at 600 points and stop buying boxes next time, but if the item I really want is guaranteed to drop at 1000 I might go ahead and do it. 1000 points might be a lot for gloom wings but I would have paid it (after all, I spent more than that anyway). The way I see it, you might not suck as many points out of those of us who have stockpiled 5000+, but these people are the same people who are giving support regardless of the MTX reward. I have little need for points but still buy supporter packs, both for the exclusive MTX they provide and because I want to help the company and the game. But, the "little people" with just a couple hundred points will be much more likely to buy boxes, in my opinion, and therefore much more likely to buy more GGGbux. " While I didn't spend anything like this amount on Boxes I do feel hard done to by the fact all I got were bloody hideout decorations and fireworks... :( Which I have no use for and cannot sell/give/trade on to someone who does want them. |
