[2.3] Mjölner Science Juggernaut MoM/Crit/Discharge Guardians down facetank on hard mods with videos
UPDATE: added all 4 Guardian Bosses on Hard Mods see Video Section below
UPDATE2: my new next gen Low Life Mjölner Pathfinder build (shaper down): https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1750841 After i got several requests for a guide here it is. Short introduction: The concept of this build is to combine energy shield and Mind over Matter mechanics with HP to reach a great amount of tankiness. The perfect balance ratio of energy shield to HP is reached when when 30% of total (physical or elemental) damage received equals to your energy shield. The energy shield is refilled with ES on Hit Jewels. Example Math: Total received damage = 8500 which is reduced by 30% due to MoM = 8500 * 0,3 = 2550 <-- This number resembles the required ES to have a perfect balance between life and ES when a 8.5k physical damage hit occurs. Obviously the HP need to cover the rest of the damage so... 8500 - 2550 = 5950 <-- Required HP for the rest of the damage. My goal behind this concept was to tank a Core Malachai slam without immortal call up, block, basalt flask or other shenanigans, just by pure mitigation in the setup that I always run on any map. And it worked out for me which you can see in the video section => tanked Core Malachai slam. Another Goal was always to get 9k (e)HP at lvl 100 but the mapping felt so extremely grindy at lvl 98. With Atlas of Worlds the map and XP situation will hopefully be better than it is now. About Shaper: I have only tried him once and failed because i let Zana die. Shaper is beatable but hes not Strugglefree with this build. Although his slams and beam are facetank even on ice ground the problem is the rather lowish dps which let too much ice ground spawn as this fight is a DPS race. But im already working on my next Mjolner iteration to pwnz shaper. In the meantime enjoy facetanking Guardian videos. Videos:

bump for update: deathless uber atziri video added

Update: Juggernaut is still viable. Did all 4 T16 Bosses on facetank mode deathless. Shaper requires to dodge the little balls during shield phase. Slam and Beam of shaper are facetank with juggernaut version and flasks up even on Cold Circle Ground. For more damage less tanky mjolner build see my Inquisitor build.

Hey there.
Thx for the build guide. Was playing a block variant and tried your setup. Mind sharing some thoughts on some questions? - Elemental Overload passive: In some videos you do have it skilled, but it is not in your guides passive tree. What feels better / does more consistent damage / advantages / disadvantages in your opinion? - Have you tried a block variant with reckless defence jewels ? - Fire Penetration vs. Controlled Destruction - maybe even using a different ratio of Power / Endurance charges 10EC 3PC vs 8EC vs 5 PC. Especially for Surgeons flasks crit might be quite nice. Thx in advance |

" Can you point out in which video? I never used Elemental Overload. I think someone did a calculation in the forums and the resolution was if u have >250% crit multi and > 33% crit chance its better than elemental overload. I cant remember who or in which guide it was. You are free to try out Elemental overload its not much worse than crit multiplier for this build. " I have tried block variant in 2.3 times. My conclusion was relying on block is not enough to tank the hardest hits in the game therefore i decided to go for max (e)HP to tank core malachai slams and uber atziri double flameblasts and stacked stormcalls back in 2.3 prenerfed dmg without relying on block. With block jewels you lose: 7% life for each jewel, a shit ton of spell dmg/attack speed/ crit chance/multiplier and the most important part: ES gain on hit - this build is specially designed around ES gain on hit jewels with MoM/EB mechanics and crit mechanics with legacy surgeons flasks. Basically this way you have around 2k more (e)HP and (almost) perma uptime of flask effects to slurp big hits and eliminate risk of dying compared to life block mjolners. " I hope you mean elemental focus not controlled destruction. This build relies on legacy surgeons flasks to tank the hardest elemental hits in the game therefore 100% reduced crit is a no go. I will answer you as if you meant elemental focus vs fire pen: I did some calculations based on monsters who have 40 resist all (like shaper). The conclusion was at 3/10 charges fire penetration is better by around 8-10% more dmg. But 3/10 is only happening round about at 25% of the time. Therefore i added in the situation where i discharge with 3/3 or 3/4 charges this is where elemental focus is better for around 8-9% of total dmg and since this hapens 3 out of 4 times elemtal focus is my choice. But the gap is really close you wont notice a big difference. 8EC and 5PC would make elemental focus even stronger i havent tried it but it could be an option. But keep in mind that your life replinish by your armour will be weaker with 8 EC therefore i recommend endurance charges over power charges because this build is meant to be as tanky and durable as possible. Although it would be better for recharging surgeons flasks im not sure if i can recommend it you can try it yourself and see how it works. I cannot not try this myself as im currently playing my new interpretation of mjolner which will facetank and down shaper without big trouble therefore my juggernaut is currently naked. One important change i did which is not visible in the armour colors is 4R 2 G i skipped LMP for blood magic which made the build a lot safer in sketchy situations where the 2.5k Energy shield runs dry. No energy shield = no mana = no discharge = death <- this situation is resolved by blood magic. Since i got 6 APS with moltenstrike with this build i hit the discharge cap anyways. I hope this helps.
