I actually decided to spend some of my Standard currency on trying out SignalShot after I got 40/40 in BSC. I'm gonna be honest, at the current state, being life-based is severely disadvantaged to CI. If you have a lot of currency saved up, I do recommend that you give CI a shot. I decided to build this also to own some core CI or ES items like a halfway decent Regalia, Skyforth, etc. You just get so much ES for such little investment. I have Energy from Within, "okay" ES gear, and I have 1K+ ES more than I could ever get with a Legacy Kaom's in the life department.

The only thing we do gain is Acro and Phase Acro, which I will say in some fights such as Minotaur and Hydra, can be very valuable. About the tree, from my analysis of the SignalShot setup, you can reach all of the damage nodes in Ranger after you get all your ES Nodes from Witch, because ES Nodes in Witch are pretty symmetrical to, say, Life Nodes in Marauder. There's just a good concentration of them in that region, which allows you to get all the defense you need without having to path any further. So if currency was not a concern, I would CI is your end-game choice.

I no longer have the time to invest in the game like I used to, so for next league I will most likely go life-based. At this point the gearing and progression is second nature to me, and it's just relaxing to play in a temp league.

Will be experimenting with CI on the Standard toon (for me, just wanted 36 challenges done for the wings haha) for a bit and will make my own judgement call if going CI archer is the path I wanna take (perhaps as a second toon) in the 2.6 league.

I've 28 ex atm, and i like to know witch is the tree i have to follow, and what suggestions do u have for me, like get a new bow or maybe a legacy vinktars or whatever.

What do u think about gems configuration and quiver?
My dps are 54k on ho with harted. Sorry for my english, is not native and it's difficult to me understand some things, I try google translator but not always is helping me.

I saw u are using hoi instead AM + blasphemy, do u think is better that configuration using tornado?
I'm not having problems on maps, but i do with some bosses, so that's why i'm here :-)

@yastu: Finally had some time to sit down and look at your post, and have some comments.

Your Tree I think is fairly solid, and I don't see many weaknesses with it. My first Tree (and current one) is designed for use of Maximum Jewel Sockets, so I pathed differently. If you plan on sticking with only 4 Jewel Sockets, then I wouldn't worry about your Tree. It overall offers slightly more tankiness and some Crit at the sacrifice of Projectile/Physical damage, which is still a good trade-off.

For Gem Links, I do not like using Elemental Focus on TS, especially since we Freeze/Chill on a Critical Strike (and marginally, we also have 20% chance to Ignite while using a Flask). It actually makes things like Porcupines more dangerous. I would much prefer replacing Elemental Focus with:

- Critical Strikes Gem if you cannot Crit Cap
- Crit Multi Gem if you are Crit Capped
- Change to GGGGBR for Pierce Gem, which works just fine by itself


Either of these options is better, even if you see the tooltip decrease I think is better for performance. I think with your gear you should be very close to Crit Cap, so try Crit Multi Gem and let me know how it goes. When you can Freeze/Chill, I think Grace is not needed here.

Rest of the links look ok. I did read into D1zzrt's thread and he recommended the AM + Blasphemy setup, imo HoI + CoH + AM is better for mapping, and AM + Blasphemy is better for boss killing like Shaper since the first setup doesn't work against single target bosses. Mainly I think it is preference based on what you do. I map more frequently so the mob killing imo goes faster for me. I also thought about Elemental Weakness + Blasphemy before too.

For upgrades atm with 28 ex, I actually do see ~380+ pDPS Harbingers get listed sometimes around that price, so that option should be available to you immediately. Legacy Vinktar is getting more and more rare these days, and are over 50 ex atm, so it seems somewhat out of reach.

I'm waiting for any Life buff in 2.6 so it gives me a reason to play this build more, and I think with new content I will use Non-Legacy Vinktar so I don't send the wrong message. It is a very strong flask, but we can make concessions (such as taking the Arcane Chemistry notable) to continue to support temp league players, and I think people would appreciate that a lot more. I have ideas at the moment but none of them are going to be fully unlocked unless Life builds get some help.

Did a quick "tentative CI" version of the tree, was running a similar build with life-based assassin but felt like the playstyle of frenzy/Snakebite on single target was a bit tedious (specially farming Uber lab for instance).

Elemental Bow Tree with tentative changes:


Left all the +ES/.% phys damage leech because I plan on doing LA/Barrage combo (never been a huge fan of TS for whatever reason).

Thought about getting the nodes near Blood Siphon for Crit% and Phys damage but that would be nearly a level 100 or all bandit points build.

Did another revamp of the guide. Hopefully some better explanations overall and clarified information. Will be working on a budget guide for Legacy League, but taking it easy until Patch 2.6.

@justinsroy: Maybe I didn't understand about the tree... was just confusing as Acrobatics would destroy ES values, so the two aren't really that compatible. In terms of transition to a CI build though, I do think that if ES remains the same in 2.6, that budget pending SignalShot would be the way to go, so you would travel differently on the tree for that.

That said, Raider feels so damn good with the Frenzy Charge sustain and I'm kind of curious on how it would perform with Snakebites. Would be a different style of build all together, but a great way to exploit the class. Out of all the test maps I played, I didn't miss a beat on the Charges, which was quite refreshing.


@fawkzz: Your rings could definitely use some improvement. What Jewels do you have for the build? The build here is designed for lower DPS since we invest a lot into increasing our life pool and defenses. Definitely, definitely get Signal Fire Quiver. It's such an insane damage boost and will skyrocket since with PTL Gem + Signal Fire we go to 100% Elemental Damage, which is further scaled by WED. Get one and let me know how it feels. I gave up my own gg quiver for it:




@Kansu: I don't know why you are trying to use a Ventor? For Resistances? I feel like your Boots are pretty weak overall, you can definitely get better Boots at this point in the league with more than 63% Total Resistance first off. I would keep the Rustic, upgrade the Boots, and look for an upgrade on the Ring you linked. You can also take a passive point for +30 STR and not use that ring. I'm not sure if there are 4-stat Jewels available at this point in the league either, but that's always a good finisher as I see you are 94.

What you think about using ice shot with peirce and getting the new phy to cold nods from the new tree? Can it be good? Im getting tierd of the same skill. TS and LA are amazing but i feel like a perma chill and freeze could be quite fun and effective.il go with the raider ascendancy using your traditional vaal pact without leg flask.il probably use drillneck if the phy to cold nod is hight enought.


Also. Are you going to update your tree before the legacy league start? The tree should be accessible in a few days.

I played a lot of bow build before but some had low life and the last i tried was using the double dipping poison mechanic but they are going to nerf it one day so i want to avoid those build. Urs seem to be well balanced with hight hp and still have insane dmg. Going to try it in legacy league.
