Wraeclast, the Untold
So, this is going to be my attempt at filling in some of the information that goes untold by GGG. There's so much left unexplored, and there's a lot of potential for character interaction and development between all the exiles and the NPC's in the game. So... fanfiction!
I'll be posting new chapters in this thread, assuming that they fit. The first chapter should, though. Though if you want a way to follow this, check it out on Fanfiction.net here. Otherwise, just keep an eye on this thread. It'll be updated sporadically. Probably. Hopefully. Maybe? We'll see how it goes. Last bumped on Jul 30, 2016, 2:15:46 AM

Chapter 1 - Pride
A communion... but with what? By all accounts, it wasn't God that the Vaal were trying to reach. -Icius Perandus Doryani breathed in the night air. It was not hot, nor was it cold. A perfect night. A perfect moon. And a perfect creation. Their communion would work. The Vaal Majin stood atop the apex, of the ritualistic pyramid that would support the coming ritual. His creation was nearly complete. The pyramid, inlaid with the dust of the Tears of Maji, was built for this singular purpose. And at its peak laid the Oversoul, the conduit that would link the Vaal in communion, and give them the power to speak with Maji itself. And Doryani would lead them in this endeavor. His beloved Queen Atziri had given him full leave, for this, truly, would give them the secret to eternal life. His previous experiments had been child’s play, and while Zerphi had somehow uncovered this secret, Doryani was sure he could achieve even greater heights. He clutched the Apex, the keystone to his creation, in his hand. It was time. ----- ----- It is in Highgate that our Emperor Voll will finish what he started. He will burn Chitus' empire from history and raise up a fresh and pure theocracy from the ashes of arrogance and corruption. -Garivaldi, Chronicler to the Empire Voll watched as his men thrashed and turned. He himself felt his mind turn against him. Whispers of doom. Promises of salvation. Visions of greatness. Lies of purity. The flesh, melted and charred, burned and defiled. The pain was great. The black storm was greater. And in his heart, Voll knew that he had been betrayed by that blasted thaumaturgist. All his hard work, to be destroyed by an egotistical charlatan. He should have burned Malachai when he had the chance. For whatever he had done was surely not the destruction of thaumaturgy. In droves, his beloved soldiers fell. They clawed at their eyes, their ears bled, and their screams died out into a whimper, and then, nothing. Voll was durable. He had to be, for his empire. But even he could not resist the pull of this nightmare made real. In the silence of the harvest moon, Voll reached for his journal, desperate to cling to the remainder of his sanity, even as it, too, melted away. “I vowed to “care for this empire with my eyes open”. I lied to my people. I lied to myself. Blinded by my lust for ‘purity’, I placed my faith in the most corrupt of men…” ----- ----- Eleanor Gaeling of Mirfield Missive of Sentence, Court of Divine Temperance, Theopolis 1599 IC You have transgressed against your God and your fellow Man.
