Vendor Recipe for Chaos: How To?

Okay.

I found the recipe for a chaos orb at the path of exile wiki. I have a bajesus quantity of rares I don't need. So I took:

2 1H weapons
1 helmet
1 chest armor
1 gloves
1 boots
1 amulet
2 rings

And then attempted to "sell" them to the vendor. The offer was not 1 chaos.

So. What is the mechanical way to do this correctly?

Err, I was just tying the recipe in and forgot to type in belt. However, are you can confirming that if I have recipe correctly, what I do is go to a vendor, click "Sell Items," put the correct items in the sell tab, the offer should convert to a chaos?

Also: do masks counts as helmets? (head piece).

They do.

and yes, just place them in the lower section of the Sell panel and when you have the right stuff a Chaos Orb should be shown at the top, and you'll be able to "Accept" the trade.

worth noting, make sure they are all either identified _or_ unidentified, not a mixture of both and like i mentioned be careful you actually have a belt :)
if it still doesnt work try with a different weapon combo (2H or 1H+shield)

even if you have components that themselves fulfil other recipes (like a tri-colour linked item) it should choose the chaos option over the others.

On a side note, this appears to be one of the better ways to dump low-attribute rares. Do y'all agree?

Yes, but rare rings and amulets are much harder to find than everything else, so it's best to just save those up in your stash and sell them as you complete the sets.

It works. You will see what you get in return turn into a Chaos Orb even before you click sell.
