[2.5] The Anomaly Tank
" Unfortunately there is no direct answer to your question. I would have to say that basically you should aim for 8500+ es before trying the hard stuff. Uber Atziri I would say 9500-10000 so that you dont get 1 -shot Main characters: Deep_water - AnomaIy - Artica

" I'm lvl 87 now and have around 7k ES atm. not the best ES gear and still I was able to do all T15 maps I got so far. I'd say just improve your gear one by one, that's how I'm doing it. Last edited by DaRkn3sS1000#6128 on Sep 18, 2016, 4:23:53 AM

How do you get 27k tooltip DPS? I'm stuck at 11k. My dps is by far not enough for the higher level content. If I crit (orb of storms isn't THAT great to proc it vs single target imo) it goes up to max 15k.
Also with this low dps frostbolt isn't viable for killing dangerous bosses because without the flasks and w/o being near them the damage is nearly 0. And bosses like Argus will just demolish you if you do not use a decoy totem. Will kill you in two hits or in one crit. No lifeleech and the block&armour is not enough/effective vs such heavy hits. Spoiler
Skill Tree: Also I die to ele reflect. The HoT aura alone kills me within seconds and the vortex initial hit did insta-kill me in big packs. However, I do get 25k tooltip dps with crit proc + conc effect. Makes me believe that conc effect might be better than empower perhaps at the cost of a bit of clearspeed. For dps, I am using a lvl 4 empower and a lvl 21 vortex. With ignite, my dps is 15k and around 24-25k with ele overload. If I use conc effect (I use this for bosses) my dps is around 36-38k with ignite gem.
Your gear is quite decent, I especially like your belt. I dont have any problems killing argus, I can facetank him while texting a friend. I would like to say that it may be because I have legacy aegis, but if you can keep rumi's up (maintaining 15k armor) and keep fortify up, his hits should not be doing a whole lot. I believe Argus is immune to ignite, so the chance to ignite gem should be replaced with ele focus. I also suggest running 2 rumi's minimum for pretty much all bosses. As for reflect, the regen seems to be enough for me, however I do have to be careful in very large packs. It might even be best not to use HoT in reflect maps. " in my experience so far, I just throw in a trap gem instead of rapid decay. I also take out the vortex and molten shell gems from my CWDT. I grabbed ghost reaver in my version, reflect from the lightning spells is now not an issue while vinktars is up (and that leech from tempest shield and HOT made a huge difference in survivability for me, I managed my first deathless hall of grandmasters run last night while carrying a 3 man party through it) I also found that I was able to do blood magic maps if I just swap in a cast when stunned gem and take off my chayula (I swap discipline into an essence worm and make up the resists and ES on my amulet). I also found a experimenter's basalt flask of iron skin to be extremely useful, it provides a lot of extra phys mitigation and more ES restore from aegis for the harder fights |

A few people have asked me if this build can be done on any other class. Today I came up with a version that works great on the witch (necromancer). Rather than relying on flasks for max block, it uses bone offering.
To make the rest of the ascendancy skills usefull, is mandatory. The scourge claw makes it so all minion damage also applies to us, thus making the Necromancer add some decent damage. Just like the pathfinder, we focus on getting grand spectrum viridian jewels for damage. The nice thing about the necro is that you dont have to worry about running out of flasks, and it can maintain 13k+ armor permanently. I will make a more indepth guide for this version in the witch forum. https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAMDAADuAW8EBwUtC2EMXw18DeIRUBR1FSAVJxXXGFYY2xpsGyUcpxzcHwIhYCj6KaUqTSy_LOktqDW5NsU3gzwtPydAoEGHQ2NEnkWdRnFGt0eFSI5KyEuuTLNRTFIpUlNTUlOlU7tV4FZIVmNXyVhaW69ca1-waHRo8m0Zb55xTXTxeu97w31bf8aCx4MJg1-DzIRIhMWGroaziq-LeoyxjxqQEZMnl5WX9Jitms-a4JuKm7WcxJ2uoS-m66cIpyusR69ssZC0DLcitz64k75PvoC-isHFw23GrspKytPQH9Nv2CTZW9pi3Q3fiuL35ebpAuq66-7sGOyD7-v3wfno Gear thrown together:

"Still in 6k range for ES though. 18k armour with flasks and vs bosses like argus I run out of flask charges WAY before the fight ends. I guess the 21 gems with the lvl4 empower make the difference. But even with 18k armour and 6k es and fortify he will kill me in 2 hits or in just one crit. I'm not talking about the lab one but about the one in that perandus map. Also some other map bosses can onehit me if they crit or if mapmods are bad even with flasks up (Voll+desynch for example). Yeah getting decent gear isn't too hard now that you can spam essences (which are very common). lvl4 empower though is pretty much impossible to get unless on standard. Too expensive and can't rely to rng it yourself. I spammed a lot of those +armour essences on a decent ilvl crystal belt. Last edited by silverdash#0964 on Sep 19, 2016, 9:05:32 AM

Do you think its worth it getting Energy from Within and put it in the common jewel slot ? it gives you more than 50% energy shield (with 4 passive points spent there). Coz getting 8k5 or 10k ES is really hard you really need a 6L 900+ vaal regalia and a good helmet, since our shield is only aegis aurora...
Or do you think it would be better to just drop Aegis Aurora (cant have the legacy one in the new league anyway) to have a 500ES shield ? Do you really value those 2% resplinishing way more than a solid ES Shield with more damage ? |
|
imo aegis aurora is better when mapping or fighting large packs of mobs. For fighting bosses the 2% is a joke since bosses hit for over half your es per hit. So in that case a high es-shield is probably better.

8500 es is not too hard to get. I was using Beast fur shawl on HCP and had around 8600es.
As for shields, absolutely you can use a high es shield. It's whatever fits your playstyle. I wont say that its better or worse, just perhaps situational. Main characters: Deep_water - AnomaIy - Artica
