[2.4] TANK - Gladiator Soul Taker, Aegis, Earthquake DUAL CURSE, 125/125 Atlas 4/4 Guardians on ESC

So the premise of this build is to create a character that can clear all the content in the game 99% facetanking all the damage the enemies and boss's can do. In other words the laziest lazy pally one could make, right click your way to destiny.

Is this build for you ?

The reason i made this build is because i am lazy, I wanted to play something where i can just waltz around and not have to gives to many cares about mods, monsters or boss's whilst having a build that can do all of the content in the game without having to switch around gear and play about with dodging spells and attacks and flask juggling etc..

So if you are like me and just want something you could play without looking whilst watching your favorite tv show and do not care about mobs per hour then look no further.

If you are like me and you like making the ultimate tank style builds then also give this a look, i enjoy making super defensive characters that have a reasonable offense to boot.

GEAR DISCUSSION

Weapon: Soul Taker, I have gone with this choice in order to run my 2 curse plus aura setup. I really like this weapon it can give you so many options and can bring some reasonable dps to the table. If you have a legacy version you can get a LOT more dps out of the build.

Shield: Aegis Aurora, This shield is our front line defense against all damage types and is one of the most powerful items in the entire game. The legacy version being even more overpowered.

Helm: Armor/ES/Life helm, My choice of helm reflects my need to some extra energy shield in my setup to increase my shields buffering and my EHP along with adding life to my pool and some armor for the Aegis returned ES percentage. If you can find one with a redblade mod then it only gets even better and allows us to convert some of our damage taken to our over capped resistances. If you can get some chaos resists in this slot then bonus.

Alternatives



Body Armor: Armor/Life, I've gone with this Golden Plate because it has the best rounded stats of the items i have for this build. Any type of Astral Plate, Glorious Plate or other heavy duty armor with some nice life and resistances is what you are looking for in this slot.

Any Of These Armors Are What You Want.


Boots: Armor/Life, My choice of boots was just anything with some move speed a high life roll and some chaos resists.

Deaths Door Crusader Boots are also a great alternative and give another endurance charge.

Belt: Meginord's Girdle, This is a fantastic belt and fills a lot of roles, has nice life, add's damage to our build as we are after all playing a resolute technique soul taker 1 handed build and gives us some flask recovery and a bit of resistances. Finding one with an extra endurance charge will give you even more passive damage reduction and help your immortal call procs last longer.

Alternatives


Gloves: I have had these gloves for some time, Now any type of cursing glove fits in here, You could go with Vuln on hit gloves for more overall damage, Temp Chains for more defense and even ele weakness would add some but not a great deal of damage to your build. The pair i happen to have just fits nicely. If you don't have a pair of gloves like these you could just go with any gloves with similar rolls without the curse until you can buy a nice corrupted pair or vaal a pair yourself.

These Gloves Vaaled With Temp Chains or Vuln on Hit Are Also Great


Rings: Phys to Attacks, Life, Res Rolls, Free Prefix slot to craft Armor% for ES return on our aegis. Chaos resists here in these slots are great.

Amulet: +1 Curse, These amulets can be quite tricky to come across and a nice one even trickier. Mine is far from optimal and my ideal rolls would be Phys Damage, Life or ES%, Armor%, Chaos resists, RES ALL, High Int or Dex Rolls. If you do not yet have the gloves for the dual cursing then just running blasphemy + warlords is fine and you can work on these 2 slots.

Jewels - You will need any jewel with 1% Shield Block until you do uber labs.



Gear Final Note

You will be short INT and probably DEX for the build you can make it up from jewels and or hopefully getting at least 1 high int roll on one of your items. You can see im getting 42 int from my helm and 16 dex and int from my neck, im also getting another 20 int from jewels. Otherwise just take 1 or 2 30 stat nodes from the tree and drop them as you round out your gear.


DUAL CURSE SETUP + General Gems.

Our cursing is all done automatic via our attacks and counters. Attacking anything applies temp chains and whenever we block we apply warlords and temp chains to everything around us giving us endurance charges, leech and slowing down enemies and reducing damage incoming.




Your general Gem Links can be applied in any of your gear the only things that are dependent on being together are.

Cast when damage Taken / Summon Chaos Gollum / Tempest Shield - Best slot is your aegis, easy to color. Gives us 3% Shield Block and 4% reduced damage.

4LINK

Reckoning / Vengeance / Endurance Charge on Melee Stun / Arctic Armour - Any 4link slot, gloves boots or helm is fine here.

5-6LINK

Melee Physical Damage / Less Duration / Fortify / Earthquake / Concentrated Effect / (6th Link Added Fire Damage) (6th Melee Damage on Full Life)

4LINK

Molten Shell / Immortal Call / Increased Duration / Cast When Damage Taken - You could run this at a fairly high level if you wanted to and have more uptime on your endurance charges. Rarely has immortal call ever had to save me and you will probably do more passive absorb from having your charges up longer.

Updated build, added guide + info + videos

I made some recent gem changes today opting to put my cursing on counters and picking up herald of ash, ancestral warchief and 2 vaal skills.

I think this is clearly more optimal as we gain 4 skills at the cost of having slightly less uptime on warlords.

Added few more video's

Made some more adjustments to gem and link optimization:

Moved cursing to shield charge with inc aoe.
(dropped warlords for either enfeeble or vulnerability)

Moved Endurance generation to reckoning and vengeance.

Picked up melee dmg on full life. More multiplier.

Made a 3point adjustment to my tree based on losing life leech from warlords, I dropped the strong arm nodes near marauder and went for lust for carnage. 1.2 leech and 40% leech rate.

This is to compensate not having the 2% from warlords, but along with this i'm gaining 40% faster leech rate for a .8% leech total loss.

I also dropped a Jewel with since i no longer needed as much not running vaal haste and picked up one with life leech. 0.36% So from dropping warlords and juggling things i only lost in total 0.44% leech but gained some leech rate.

We did lose the 3 strongarm nodes but dps is already pretty good for an RT soul taker build.

Nothing changed in atlas update so everything applies here

Phys damage over weapon elemental on your rings and amulet then wed is secondary priority.

High elemental damage rolls are probably equally as good as a wed roll for us.
