Map Stash Tab

Beside the effort and limitations to stack stuff like maps;
- I expect such a feature would be a premium one
- I expect the effect of map stacks to be much less then what the currency tab had
- what would 'your' premium map tab do (or do different)?

Good question, well there could be three assigned spots for each map tier, one for rare, magic and white. When you click on the spot then a scroll box of the maps placed in that spot pops up and you could scroll through the maps deposited in that spot. The scroll box could be sorted by quality with the highest quality maps at the top or optionally be sorted by map name then quality. Also, when there is a map in your inventory and your stash is open to anywhere, you could ctrl-click on the map in your inventory and it would automatically be deposited into the correct spot in your premium map tab.

EDIT: If there was enough room to fit it all into the size of one stash tap then maybe a spot per map name might be better?

Sounds like a mess of effort, just to have like 'tabs inside of a tab'
As I understand your suggestion, it adds 'nearly' nothing to the usability of map-handling (beside the auto-sorting). The handling and behaviour inside the 'sub-tabs' would be exactly the same as now with a 'regular' map-tab.

That alone would be 45 "spots" by now, and wont even include unique maps. And if it's not by tier, but by maptype instead, it skyrockets to >200. Even the "lower" variant will for sure never come.

I thought about it for probably less than a minute before posting so there would need to be a bit more design work done before handing it over to the implementer. :-) On standard I have over a dozen tabs dedicated just to maps so a map tab would be nice there just to save space. Of course, most people probably don't hoard their maps that much right now? The unique maps could have their own spot. If there's room for each map name to have their own spot then you wouldn't have a separate spot for rare, magic and white. Instead scroll box sorting would be rare, magic, white with the secondary sort key being quality or something. There's like a little over a hundred or so different map names including unique maps. The current stash tab is 144 squares. It might fit? From my perspective being able to ctrl-click the map in inventory to put the map away into my stash would probably be worth something along the lines of what a currency tab costs?

Regarding your effort comment, if you're talking about the implementation effort, then yes there would be some effort but that is what programmers are for. :-) I would guess it would be more effort than the currency tab to implement but probably not multiple times more effort? The more important question would be if it would be popular? If it turned out to be popular then that effort would be paid for many times over.

and that's the main 'issue' (from GGG's view) - if its 'only' (or most mandatory) purpose is to save some space, then its just less sold stash tabs (and, like in your case, probably a lot less...)

Of course I talk about implementation; and it is a lot more data to handle with maps compared to "1-digit" currencies... of course its possible, but the costs are the thing to wage.
And again, IMHO a feature that is just a 'sub-tab' of another tab, isnt worth it.
If any like these, then it should be an option to 'group' (premium) tabs for any use.

Just found this thread.

Awesome idea!!!

I would immediately buy such a premium "map-stash-tab"

(so far: --> 10 messed up stash tabs for maps in standard,
--> 5 messed up stash tabs for maps in the current season)
i would pay for a map stash tab.

Me too! Even if it comes as a mere copy of the Essence stash tab!

Please GGG just do it! Would buy at least one for sure :-)
