Sure its possible to get an endurance charge instead of a jewel or frenzy charge.
I picked up VP around lvl 79-80, dont remember excactly the lvl. There was a point with the char where i dropped down to 10% life after two shots and barely killed myself against reflect rares... that was the point where i rushed it :p
Besides that, evasion and a relatively big hp pool help.

The leech on daressos is, like lioneyes, phys leech only. It wont be enough for the lifepool since the phys dmg part is too low for lifeleech. phys manaleech on the other side is enough to keep to pool full all the time (except low recovery, no leech and no regen maps).

Lets say we deal 1k phys dmg per shot, leeching 0.4% life/mana of that, which results in 4 life/mana.

Now we have the difference between ~150 free mana and 4k+ life, the percantage leeched is way different. In reality the physpart is somewhat higher, but not eniugh for lifeleech.

You could rush VP without entering the shadow if you want/need. I would take the duelist leech into consideration, the 0.4 node (with the travelnode) might be enough to keep you healthy, haven't tested it w/o it tho.

i dont use poachers aim, once the pierce chance is 100% it won't go higher.
Its a possibility if you have corrupted the implicit of Drillneck, but i would rather use

one skillpoint instead of a jewel slot.


For gearupgrades you should aim for phys damage jewelry next and a new helmet

Sorry, i was phrasing my question was wrong. I realize its obviously possibly to get another endurance charge. The question should have been: Is it worth it to to pick it up instead of a jewel slot, or, more likely, a frency charge ?

Its probably not, and hence, Defiance is probably not a good choice in hindsight due to lacking synergy.
As a side note, the boots leech enchant is based upon damage, not physical damage. This probably means its worth like 3 to 4 times as much as a conventional phys leech effect from gear etc, not even considering its dual leech.

yeah i was talking about the defiance leech. Its even worth more than 3-4 times, since we deal around 90% elemental damage with WED alone.

excample with 100 basedmg

100 phys * 4,3 = 430 ele dmg
430 * 1.59 (lvl20 WED) = 683,7
683,7 + 100 = 783,7 total dmg

683,7 / 783,7 = 0,896 > 89,6%

the ratio stays the same with any phys/projectile whatever node and goes more into the favour of the elemental part with elenodes, weapon ele dmg on gear or flat ele dmg.
in reality over 90% of the damage is elemental damage, making 0,4% physleech basically to 0,04% leech of our whole dmg (still enough for manaleech :D)

So yeah, the bootleech enchant is great, but you cannot rely on that against bosses, especially without adds like daresso.

Defiance is better for phys builds to trigger cwdt immortal call with a decent duration against reflect. For this build its still a good pickup, but there are overall better ones.


You could switch some things up to get Devotion instead of Golems Blood for a 2 point charge, some eledmg and a jewel.

Is it worth it to trade a frenzy charge for a endurance charge? Sure it can be if you want the defence

Yeah. If i may be so bold, i would suggest you to slightly alter the OP to make sure people understand Daressos is not a "good" choice for a chest. Ill keep wearing mine for now, but i really didnt think it through after reading your OP and decided to quickly.

Im not sure the whole frost-wall pierce mechanic will stay with us for yet another league, its kind of a abuse, but reaaally powerful nontheless.

It is a good choice for a chest, just not for anti reflect like it would be on a pure phys build. The leech is useless, too.

you gain pcharges and reduced a potential phys hit by 4% per charge and gain atkspeed/castspeed due to the onslaught buff. The chance to dodge is nice, too.

It´s still a sweet chest, just not used to its full potential (like lioneyes visions good a armour value for me)

I did a different version of this build as champion but I felt I wanted to try templar (never played it before) so I'm doing your build now!
Firstly, I might have missed it but how do you solve mana leech early on (if possible I'd like to stop using mana pot as fast as possible)
And seconly, are you certain physical projectile attack damage is the best 6th link to use? I am not planing to use Lioneye's chest as I have already 6L the bow myself and I think I'd rather use belly or kintsugi.

Manapot and vaal clarity are options. If youre leveling with a tabula rasa you can use the manaleech gem.


yes, ppad is the best 6th gem.
Since you already got the 6l bow you could go for Queen of the Forest if you wanna quickly chain low to midtiermaps and a kintsugi/belly/rare/coil for higher content.
Its not like 5linking is expnsive this league, i like to have options for different content ;)

What chest piece world be the BiS except Vision and Coil? I'm probably gonna catch a Kintsugi since it's a prophecy exclusive unique and i want to test it, but there is a better chest piece?
(I'm not going with vision or coil because of hard coloring and hard Resist cap respectively)

Btw, loving the build, one shotting everything with only 250 LA DPS at cruel, melting boss with blast rain and very anxious to catch 100% pierce to use the frost wall combo :)

I would try the kintsugi, too. Seems pretty strong in many bossfights, especially stuff like atziri or uber argus/izaro, where we shouldn't get hit frequently, but if we get hit its a hard one. It basically has a lightning coil effect for any damage type.

queen of the forest on the other side, like i said, can easily grant over 50% movementspeed which makes george, plateau etc. maps very fast. I used it on a evasion based coc wander last league for 65%+ movementspeed, which is insane for a char that has no movementskill (lightning warp depends on movementspeed or even could be dropped in that case)

i would go for both in the long run, but if you want a safe pick, especially with the cheap 5l prophecy aviable.


Yeah the bow is insane once you equip it, played with la + chain till i could fully skill the cluster and just switched the chain to pierce.
Blastrain was my singletarget til thst point, but frostwall just needs fewer links for better damage and utility (blocking uber argus, trio... blocking projectiles on top of the broken mechanic)

When i reach the end game i will give a try on this, that movspeed is insane and would help a lot, especially when i have whirling blades on 99% of my characters, but this time is not possible hahahaha.

Now i'm using LA + chain too, waiting to reach the pierce nodes to use the frost wall combo, clear speed is insane and it's a very fun build, never played as an archer before, but Doomfletch was calling me this time hahaha
