Version 2.3.0d makes my game stutter (same as 2.3.0b)
I am having the same FPS spikes and stutter like on 2.3.0b.
Version 2.3.0c from yesterday fixed it, but 2.3.0d brought is back. History: 2.3.0 was OK. 2.3.0b was BROKEN - I could not play for 1 day because of this. 2.3.0c was OK. 2.3.0d it is BROKEN again. From patchnotes 2.3.0c, I can conclude it is something about either Asynchronous preloading (I have WIN 7 BTW) or specific asset preloading. From my recent testing, it seems that 230d is dropping FPS even more than 230b. Completely unplayeable for me. 2.3.0c was a cruise yesterday - played for 5+ hours straight at 60+ FPS. Stutter with v.230d: Old stutter with v.230b: Naturally, I haven't took screenshot yesterday with v.230c because I had a normal playing experience. Last bumped on Jun 11, 2016, 5:05:52 AM

Update:
I've tried to make a clean start of PoE couple of times now, always allowing at least 10 minutes for game to preload stuff. To my surprise, after 4 tries, the game started working normally - without stutter or FPS spikes (version 2.3.0d). The previous 3 attempts always ended my client in the permanent FPS spike sutter as shown on the screenshoot above. I STRONGLY suspect it has something to do with the MTX-es people wear in town. If I enter town and there is someone with the asset which hasn't preloaded (for whatever reason), it seems that game does not know how to recover from such a "error" - the FPS stutter persist indefinitely even if I leave such zone. For instance, I was standing in Dried Lake entrance for 20 minutes - FPS spikes persisted. Unplayeable. The current game instance (which I have opened now) somehow "worked through" the problematic infinite FPS spike loop - works perfectly now. Odd and pretty non-consistent behaviour, I have to say. |

After three tries today I again cannot seem to get my game going. :(

Since I am desperate and NOT able to make the game preload and run properly, I tried running the game on utterly conservative graphical settings. I've left it for 15+ minutes in 800*600 windowed and low graphical settings. The FPS spikes/stutters just persist..
I've added a few red text explanations about the bug in the screenshot: Please GGG, fix this ASAP. I really wanna play the game. |

yep same problem here

Same here, and as I posted in another tread, looks its related to certain areas where files arent compressed or cause computer memory to overload.
I my case, FPS drop when loading zones fix itself if you let the computer 1-2 min without moving (yes, I know its not the way to go, but it confirms is a data loading or memory purge issue). ¿Do you notice it? |

" Well, yesterday, somehow and super odd, I had an instance of PoE v2.3.0d running which somehow overcame the engine/memory issue - I had it up for 5+ hours session and I was able to play the whole time, naturally, waiting 10-20-30 seconds when entering zones with rain, new graphical assets, etc. So, yes, I've also noticed a FPS stutters on Domain Enlosure (the really big open zone in Labyrint) but when I've left it calm for 1 minute, it preloaded and I was able to play normally. Now, the basic issue for me is that I cannot even make the client open and run smoothly on newly created character. I just made a character with 800x600 resolution and super low graphical settings, run to act1 town and left it there for 20+ minutes. The FPS spikes/stutter just persist indefinitely. :\ Something is definitely wrong with engine and memory load/purge code. |

The issue seems to be also present in 2.3.0e.

I am having this EXACT same problem with my fps. Your fps charts when lagging look identical to mine and the game is unplayable most of the time.
The strange thing is that I have managed to get the game working normally 5 times and I have no idea why the game starts working sometimes. The fps hell too comes back randomly after restarting or just during the gameplay. |

" Try running the game with --nopreload which will bypass all the preloading routines. Even though the zone loading is a bit longer (10-20 seconds to enter new map), for me, it makes my game completely stutter free. Also, check out the reddit topics which I posted. I've learned much reading them. |
