i got 1635 mana atm im running AA+DISC+WM and i got 202 mana left ~ 1 1/2 casts enlighting is lvl 2(+1) atm
working on helm enchant

By the way i have 7.2k ES atm end just got my 2nd curse .. with only WM Izaro 1shotted me in uber lab with his ground slam in your video he deals like 4k~ dmg to you :o Does enfeeble help that much ? Or are you using any special flasks

1.5 casts worth of mana with Enlighten lv 2 is fine.

Izaro can 1-shot you if you let him get the buffs or put curses on you AND you fail to use Fortify/AA/Enfeeble. Yes, Enfeeble is VERY important. It should be the 2nd curse, not TC. The dual-curse version of this build was using WM+Enfeeble. But if you got 1-shot with 7.2k ES then you probably didn't pay attention to Fortify either.

I use Quicksilver flasks of Adrenaline (+70% move speed) and a staunching flask for lab runs. No extra protection is needed against Izaro even with the worst buffs when you have AA+Enfeeble+Fortify - he cannot possibly 1-shot you with that combo as long as you have over 6.5k ES (that was the biggest hit I've even seen, with him on max charges and all curses on me).

You also don't have to facetank him on the days when he has charges. He's pretty easy to dodge.

i havent tried him yet with enfeeble :x and when i first did him he had 3x Conduits because i didnt know about the buffs etc ^^ What exactly does TC do? it makes other curses last longer ? Do they get stronger aswell or something?
Why do we take increased skill duration nodes? Isn't there a better use of these points?

Umm... it slows the enemies. It also makes curses on them last longer.

Icestorm produces 10 hits per second. The longer each storm lasts - the more DPS you do. It's multiplicative to everything else. Also it increases the duration of Immortal Call and the curses.

Hey I'm trying to get going with Whispering Ice as we speak.

I noticed there are a couple WI builds atm.

What are the main differences between this build and WaffleT's Templar version? It looks like the templar has bigger defence, dps and speed?

Edit: link to templar build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1697785/page/1

Note that i plan to max out about level 87/88.

He doesn't have faster speed, his video is just sped up. ;)

He doesn't have bigger DPS either, Elementalist has much higher resist penetration, it just doesn't show in the tooltip.

I dunno about the defenses. Guardian has armor, block and resists. Elementalist has curses, leech and anti-reflect. One may be better than the other in different situations.

This build can do everything in PoE pretty easily and you can see it in the videos. With almost any mods. That build - no idea what it can and cannot do, which bosses and mods. The only video it has is an easy trash clear.

But the biggest difference? The budget. Not new league friendly, at all.

It's nice to have variety though. The more the better.

Thanks for feedback on this.

From what I've experienced this build is probably more expensive (but I play Standard, not League)...

The shavs is obviously the most exp in the Templar build, but it doesn't have to be linked so these can be picked up for about 5ex... whereas I'm struggling to find a 5L 750 ES, 40+ int + resis chest on this build for under 10ex.

Also, I've found upgrading gear to be quite expensive on this build... getting 40+int with good resis is rather expensive (at least on Standard) and it seems to get the good stuff requires at least 1 ex for each piece.

I think the defensiveness of the other build is good in that they are "always on"... with armour, block, resists etc... where there are times when playing this build I see my shield go to almost 0 and i'm like "oh f*$k!" and try to leech.

Would you consider occultist instead of elementalist ? The dmg boost is not that significant while occultist gives you a free curse (hence you swap doedre for perandus signet) and insane ES regen.

The stun immunity on full ES sounds good too on paper and that means tons of points you could re-arrange on the tree (night b wrong on that but the above looks good stuff to consider).

But ultimately the templar looks the best class once you buy the right gear.

Anyway, having fun once swapped to CI at around lvl70. THe leveling is always a pain in the ass for caster... range phys damage killed me a bunch of times...

Edit: fun fact with your standard character, you have 1699 INT, if you add +1 you will get the bonus for ice storm duration (for each 100 INT). Due to how the computation happens, your 99 INT is not taken into account haha (you should be at 5.87 duration instead of 5.66 currently).

Hey Kelvynn, thanks for the guide. Currently in ESC lv 85 with 1200 int and 7.6k es. Breezed through T14 shrine earlier today.

For those like me who don't have black sun crest or enlighten and can't fit arctic armour in, I highly recommend running Decoy Totem, it's an incredible one slot wonder that takes a huge amount of boss and essence mob aggro off.
the leveling guide that you made for this build is top! very professional
Thanks for this guide, really enjoying my first ES / CI build
I have a lvl8 CWDT linked with IC and OoS, why won't OoS cast (I can cast it when I shouldn't be able to)?
