So I was following this guide and the leveling guide recommends taking CI and infused shield at level 33 when in fact it seems significantly better to instead of spending the 3 points on taking the infused shield node to go and grab Arcane Focus with the same 3 points. You get 2% more maximum energy shield as well as a less relevant but still nice higher recharge rate. Am I missing something here?

Infused shield gives "more" energy shield instead of "increased", which means it is a multiplier. This is very rare for the passive tree, there is no other energy shield passive node that does this and there are only 4 other nodes (which are even keystones) that have something with "more".

The final character has something around 340% increased energy shield, mostly from intelligence. If you take away the 15% more modifier from that character and try to replace it with x% increase, you'd need roughly 50% in increased modifiers. Even with the lvl 33 char you are already at a point where the multiplier is strictly better.

I knew I was missing something thanks for pointing that out.

Another quick question, could someone explain how freezing mobs works when we are converting all our cold damage to fire damage and using elemental focus? Should both of these things not make freezing mobs no longer possible?

Icestorm creates chilled ground on impact, which isn't affected by the gems. So, if I'm not wrong, it just chills them without problem.
does increased damage with weapons affect this build?

This build doesn't freeze because it doesn't do cold damage. It chills (Icestorm ground, AA) and stuns (Icestorm damage with WM). LOL @ perma-stunned Chayula.

So I noticed that you were using the cast when channeled scorching ray build on the Mara and it seems to be more recent is that build better only specifically on the Mara or have you not updated the witch section? If it is specific to the Mara or the Witch doesn't use it could you elaborate on why exactly that is?

It is not Berserker specific. I think Kelvynn just wanted to do WI as a Berserker, and CwC also happened to be a new/potentially powerful option at the same time. Witch or Templar most definitely work perfectly well with the CwC version.
U MAD?

Surely you would need to change at least some stuff around though right? For example the CWDT setup where you summon a lightning golem and a flame golem if I am using CwC and scorching ray does the lightning golem buff not now do nothing? So presumably I'd use a different golem though the others aren't going to give me any extra damage either, though I suppose the cast speed would let me turn the beam faster it sucks to lose out on abusing the witch's advantage with the extra golem and increased effect of their buffs.

That is just off the top of my head I'm not sure if there would be anything else that might need considering.
