you should look for 700ish (750+ even) ES chest (which you can get super cheap, like 5c unlinked on BSC at least), 150 ES gloves and boots, a crystal belt (which you can craft yourself) with Int and a flat ES roll.

If only the gear was that cheap. I sold my 6S 5L 693 ES chest for 75 chaos (int, about 30% resists.)

I crafted my chest and belt using spite essences. Got lucky with my chest.

What. What league was that? Talking about Breach SC, where 700+ Es chests, unlinked (and you only need a 5L for this build) start at 8c atm:

Poe.trade search results for 700+ ES chests on BSC

Poe.trade results of 700+ ES chests on BSC with intelligence, which is a must for this build. +anywhere up to 1ex to make it 5l. And you still need 6s...

You can craft Int with Catarina. Sure, you won't get a T1 Int roll with it, but you just need an ES chest with an open suffix... Also, the question was about "good enough" gear, not super duper perfect min maxed.

I have no need for 3 movement flasks really. What can I exchange the third flask for? Any legendary flasks worth looking into? Or maybe just another sulphur flask to constantly keep the +40% dmg buff up?

Yes. Good enough. 700es and 40int is good enough. To get even 1 low resist you need 3ex, and to get 2 res you need 5ex. Each point counts, and 30int of catarina is quite low.
well, you gotta account for inflation. 5ex today is like 3ex 2 weeks ago...

if you played since the league started and got less currency in than others, i.e. lack behind the curve; or if you just now enter an already very saturated market, you simply get the short end of the stick.

in ARPGs like poe (or d2 back in the day), there is and has always been a sharp split in price trends after a certain point in a league: items above the cutoff level become more and more expensive in terms of (nominal) currency, everything below the cutoff trends towards 1c or 1alch territory.

said cutoff region is around the "700-750 ES with int and one res" mark. in breach, the additional demand for int ES chests comes from ES and HoWA being meta, which pushes such chests slightly over the edge. the reason why the cutoff is around the 700-750 ES mark is simply that ~750-790ish ES is the highest you can get with two t1 prefix rolls. so with t1 & t2 percent and flat ES rolls, you land in the 700-750 ES region. conversely, for anything above 800 ES, you need to hit 3 prefixes; which combined with the suffixes (int + res) that we need makes for much rarer and more expensive chests.

I'm experiencing the same btw: my current chest is this one:

I have a very similar chest listed for 7ex and cant get it sold, but any meaningful upgrade over my current chest would be 14++ ex...

Edit: level 94

with that gear and level, you should be able to do any content in the game
Spoiler
(ofc except for bullshit map rolls like cannot leech life or mana & no life mana or ES regen... or a corrupted 8-prop hydra map with temp chains, shocked ground, -max, added cold damage, added fire damage, added light damage and boss turbo... )

Oh I don’t doubt it. I steamroll most content as it is without much effort. I don’t have any issues with Izaro, Atziri, or any of the T15 bosses. Most map mods are doable except some of the cancer combos you roll from time-to-time (some you’ve mentioned already). The guardians make me work for it though (hydra in particular is a PITA), but the shaper fight is relatively new for me. If/when I take him down with this build, it will mark the first time I’ve ever done it on my own. I feel like after I understand the fight better mechanically I’ll come out on top. That said, I’ve put this build on the backburner for a bit so I can try some other things, specifically the Cyclone Raider that was all the hype a few weeks ago. Just want to mix things up a bit for while to help keep the game fresh while I wrap up these last 2 challenges. I’m definitely going to keep playing this build though. I’m about 2/3 away from 95, so I want to at least get her there and give the shaper another shot (or several, if I can sustain it).

What price ranges should be considered for "average" quality end game gear?

This is my first time in end game, and not really sure what prices I should be looking at.

Thanks!

“Average” is a bit subjective, but I think the median for what I have seen is around here for this build is 7-8K ES & 1500ish int. That’s about where I am, so I would consider what I have to be average. I bought most of my gear early on while I leveled my starter. Some the prices I got it for are different than what they are now, as demand has changed now that int builds are all the rage.

Helmet – 30c (it is damn hard to find a “cheap” 15% int Black Sun, but this was the lowest I can find. They still go for about 40-60c)

Chest – 2ex (You might still be able to get something like this for about 2-5ex. It’s been a while since I’ve looked)

Astramentis – 35c (I got it on day 5 or something, now it would sell easily for an exalt or two)

Pyre – super cheap, maybe a chaos or two

Doedre’s Damning – I only paid like, 5c for this? Now I think it goes for a around 10

Auxium – I got one for like, a chaos or two (I can’t remember)

Crystal Belt – bought one for an exalt. Top int roll but shitty ES for its potential. I sold it for 85c yesterday (thanks, Mathil) and bought another with an okay int roll but better all-around stats for an exalt.

Boots – 40c (about 1ex in chromes to get the colors I needed on it for the latest version of this build)

Gloves – 30c

WI - I’ve bought 2 for real cheap, one to use while waiting for my race rewards to unlock and the other as a swap staff for culling/gem levelling. After they unlocked I sold one for 35c. Given I had to 6S all of them on my own, I’m hoping I broke even here, but who knows?

Jewels – a few ex for all of my turmoils, and a few c for fertile mind and brute force solutions

Based off of my own experience, and judging current market conditions, endgame gearing might run you about 600-800c (which is still substantially cheaper than Skyforth’s boots, as noted in Kelvynn’s FAQ)
Thanks for the various answers with regards to AoF+CtF, it's great with some different insights. Currently continuing for the Pyre setup, but can equally see myself changing it depending on my res, need of ES and so forth. It is a choice you can be very flexible in after all.

Black_gun: Cool to see that you're doing another variation without unwavering stance and putting in some other nifty choices, and gem setups. And a little surprised that you're able to resist the greed of using double perandus there haha :D (I only use 3 curses on really tough maps/bosses myself). Either way, thanks for the insights!
This build is awesome! I've been farming t13-15 maps (minotur, abyss, maze, scriptorium, mineral pools and shrine being all I have unlocked so far) with both IIQ and IIR gems replacing fire penetration and increased aoe/conc effect, and it works absolutely great. Now obviously it's going slower than most people would enjoy, and I ripped to a few bosses having stubbornly decided to facetank phases not meant to be tanked in magic find gear, but it's very very tanky regardless.

Here's my gear for reference, i get 1472 int at level 89 and 5350/6256 damage. I can honestly say that anyone who died in this build does so because of severe user error (or pure stubbornness in my case).

Thanks again, this is my chosen build for my no partying, no maps buying project of filling the entire atlas project, it's made it really fun
