I think reflect needs to be removed/changed to thorns in maps instead of nerfing items...

So only having a mechanism that penalize high attack/cast speed builds ? And then lower attack/cast speed build could just stop giving a damn and just faceroll everything ?

And that Way, VMS build would not need Chaos damange at all and keep facerolling everything wihout even bothering thinking / looking at what dies .....

Reflect is obviously a necessary mechanism, and it is pretty weak compared to what it used to be already.

And if you want to argue that it's a high-end/expensive build, remember that the game should be fun out of the box, not after some huge investment (at least that's what you said up above). That's a pretty damn fun build, if you ask me... so it should be doable, relatively soon out-of-the-box.

Because the game cannot be fun without playing an OP-like build ?
And I am pretty sure that you can, if you don't aim for crazy uniques, you can either use Lorica, or cap your chaos res ( or get it to 25+% with a chaos flask to go with it ), and I am pretty positive that it is doable.
Now after that, there is the matter of people's expectations ...... I feel like many people are expecting to reach all the crazy geared state of the characters that they see on youtube / stream, and when they don't ( because they do not spend the same amount of time gearing, or they are not doing it efficiently ), they just start complaining ( not everybody does it obviously, just in case ).
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I get what you say . But i don't think it's a good idea of ggg to make stuff so insane rare . If you like that the game has " almost impossible going to drop items " maybe others are interested to play different and many builds the game can offer you . Its no point in calling me a L2p player just because i don't like this decrease in drops , i have a good balanced character . I have my 6 link and exalt value items and i haven't died much in general . I am saying it in a general sence that this was a bad decision by them to do . They should encourage farming the game and not the auction house . poe is heading into the same place d3 was when d3 had the auction house . I am a bit worried about this . I don't want the game to become crap . It's not that i don't like the auction house because i do and have used it much but the price of having a auction house is high to the game . Good stuff drop maybe 0,001 % of your playing time and that in itself is not a good design imo . As i try to say i don't want the auction house to dictate the game and the game drops of cool items ( fun items ) . Maybe ggg could find a way use more items in recipes or something , item sink like d3 had with gold sink and poe has with currency sink .

I agree with you. A diablo-like should always be about finding good drops yourself (or in group of 3-4 friends) that's the foundation of this genre. Finding stuff is exciting, it's like a gear Casino.

All I wanted to do is to highlight a problem GGG is probably trying to deal with, in order to temper some players frustrated about it. I understand the frustration since I have myself some characters that are self found only and for sure they could benefit a lot from some cheap trade sessions (1c - 5c items)!! But, in short, there's no easy solution to this problem.

Your item sink idea is cool, I like it. I liked what a player pointed out earlier in this thread, the idea of creating a no trade league is interesting ... I would myself play it. Another idea, they could make traded items 10% degraded stats in order to make self found items always potentially better... I would still buy a degraded Windripper.

Edit: I hope I offended nobody this time :P.

no legacy )) thx cris (alredy installed diablo 3 )
So many cancerous replies it makes me sad. Any post bitching about nerfs should be completely disregarded immediately. People should realize that grinding gear will always be balancing the game the way they see fit. Sometimes it will suit your tastes and other times it won't, but in the grand scheme of things OP builds will come and go.(some will overstay their welcome)

Legacy items have been part of PoE for years and they are one of the reasons Standart exist and some players prefer to stick with Standart as a personal preference.

I agree on the balancing chaos damage part and all the changes planned tho I personally disagree on not leaving legacy chaos conversion items and "balancing" all chaos conversion items across the board.

If this continue in future and there are no more legacy items and/or old legacy items will be removed slowly in the future, then I'm pretty sure PoE will lose a good chunk of players, those players who play mostly on Standart, because of those legacy items they collected over the years.

One thing that makes Path on Exile unique unlike any other game is the number of options given to the players and the possibily for each player to find hes nich and removing some of those options is going to bring more negatives then positives to the game overall.

Afterall the more people play one game, the more supporters it will have and the better this game will grow and evolve and we have already seen PoE losing a good numbers of players, because of some GGG "balances" in the past. I hope this dosent happen again.

Everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

OMFG why ggg?

Chaos conversion has been reduced in effectiveness. This only appears on a few items, but is a system change rather than just a change to those items. As such the items affected will not have legacy versions with old values. We have made sure these items display the correct new effective value however. The values of chaos conversion on Voltaxic Rift, Infernal Mantle and Consuming Dark uniques have been reduced to be 60% of their prior value.

No legacy ? Tired of your own shitty standard eco? 60% of their prior value? Must you ruin all the fun!

Additionally, fourth tier "chase" unique items (like Shavronne's Wrappings) have been made rarer than they were in 2.2.0.

Yeah because we all have 20 Shavronne's Wrapping lying around in our stash when playing temp leagues. I mean finally when the only thing needed in the game was a map drop and monster rebalance you guys fuck everything up.

Really no map drop increase ? I still feel like shit when doing 10-20 T11 / T12 / T13 and nothing getting anything next tier.

Make already very hard to get items even harder to get? Especially without Brodiro?

Nerfing another meta... how original.

I'll remain silent over the additional power creep of 2 ascendancy points aswell.

Man everytime getting sick of this crap ...you guys turned into everything you were opposed to in open beta. You know who nerfs shit all the time and does bandwagoning? Blizzard. Not you ggg. You were supposed to be the chosen one!

This is exactly what all of us long time player think about those nervs they happen every time after some leagues. But GGG not care about us long time player / only the new guys they start this game and quit after like 2 weeks.

It happens already again if i talk to a lot of my friends and peoples on friendlist :)
Voltaxic wasn't the problem.
Stupid overpowered chaos support gems you introduced recently were.
They all gave MORE damage.
If you will keep introducing broken gems and then destroy the items that used them, there's no point at all.
You could just tone down the gems, like you did with crit multiplier gem in 2.0.
If one wants to play pure chaos he should be able to but have really low dps compared to phys or ele.
While I agree Legacy items can look attractive it is not really a good thing for the game. Some people would love to play standard every now and then, but they just get smacked in the face by all the legacy items that are either hard to get or flat out impossible to obtain. Not having any chance whatsoever to obtain certain items in the game is very very bad and discouraging. I obviously don't think every player should have easy access to every single item in the game, but there should at least be a chance through hard work and dedication. This is why I am against the whole legacy item system or at least if they have such a thing make legacy items obtainable through certain standard only divination cards/zana mods etc.
