I have no problem with that since they made the game a lot easier with 2.0

before 2.0 my boredom point on a Build was 70-75, now its 80-85

Movement speed soft capped at around 50-60%

I think that might slow down the clear speed meta and make regular builds more viable

On the other hand, GGG can not simply remove the drawback of penalty related XP, and simultaneously be expected to create increased resistance between levels 1-100.

That would have the opposite effect in counter balance.

Which is why I personally believe they are heading in the right direction with Prophecy related content.

Hopefully infusing lower area content with worth while activity for the end game population.

sure it would slow people down but i think its the wrong approach if you want to slow the meta because this not only reduce clear speed, it also reduce survivability

nerfing all damage would be a shitload of work in terms of balance

i think the only way to slow the meta would be buff all monsters tankiness

more life = longer to kill, which also means have to cast curses more often, less flask regeneration etc

That would make achieving 100 insanely easy.

But lower areas will still be unapealing if you can get in higher areas get more xp and currency and then sell that currency for the items you were seeking for

sure Prophecy will force you to play other areas but those areas wont be more rewarding

I agree the way i said it would make lvl 100 easy as fuck but its my fault, when i explain something i often forget to mention that i always imply that Balance would be needed to make it work



removing penalty would imply lowering the granted XP in some areas

Hell... Diablo was such a perfect game for that

There was a gradiant of granted XP from a1 to a5 but you could get to 100 in any of hell(3rd difficulty) area

I don't care that much about slowing the meta down tbh I just want crap builds to be more on par with meta builds so I can play random junk builds and not feel like I'm completely wasting my time.

Raising the monsters HP would honestly make the meta builds even stronger compared to non meta builds as anything not able to 1 shot the super tanky mobs while still running faster then bolt would be considered non meta for mapping.

I mean some people are using queen of the forest on builds that are not great with it and dropping an aura for grace just so they can clear / move faster.

Incentive however, does NOT always have to focus solely on XP.

Regardless, I feel GGG are on the right track. Creating worthwhile incentives to revisit previous content. How this plays out will require balance. Of course, as you aforementioned; balance is key.

However, by providing an influx of imaginative content, and injecting it into previous areas, GGG might be able to find some salvation in these regions.

It's all about the incentives.

I am in no way suggesting Prophecy fixes these issues completely, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

It's of course up to GGG to fully take advantage of this with their continued implementations.

I completely agree

you point stands strong with prophecy since they are bound to you

but if it wasnt for something bound to you, the incentive would never be enough since POE is a game based on loot and XP
