Upcoming Divination Cards

I'd like to see someone explain how one fraction of a div card set that adds up to one fraction of a good, rare thing is any different than an alteration orb dropping. You could say that the alteration orb has intrinsic utility, but in reality, for most players most of the time, it doesn't.

I have had 1500 alteration orbs at one point in Perandus league. My 1501st alt orb drop doesn't really have any utility at that point other than to serve as an increment on the path to an exalted orb. The first 20 had utility back when I would need them to roll flasks. The next 20 had less utility, as a hedge for rolling entry tier maps. The next 1460 had effectively 0 intrinsic utility.

Simply because YOU have no use for alts doesn't means alts have no use. That's your difference. A div card has NO use until you complete it, and get whatever it offers. An alt always has use, whether you use it or not. That div card is like the difference between a dollar, and a shredded dollar. One always has use, on has no use until you put all the pieces together.

I'd like to re-present my example of the gold standard here....Still valid in reply.

And again, making mirrors easier to get is a BAD thing, not a good one.

Wow, people are really overreacting to a Card that doesn't really change anything.. A fraction of a fraction of a rare Currency? That's already what the "barter system" is; we already have ratios between different currency, how is a Card any different? And certain cards already are fractions of different currencies.

This changes nothing.

If anything it allows House of Mirrors to actually potentially be turned in, because as it stands I've only ever heard of ONE dropping.. (And it's only off Uber Vaals.) Good luck getting to turn that in, in a Permanent League, let alone a Temporary one..

The Immortal, even if it is extremely rare, allows House of Mirrors the potential to not be completely useless. (Because lets face it, even if it dropped, it wouldn't be worth shit, because of how impossible getting the others needed for the turn-in would be.)

Cards that give a specific unique item should always be corrupted. Want to avoid dealing with RNG to drop that item, want a static way to generate it, fine! here are static values

Storm cloud is a leveling unique. Having reliable access to a cheap-as-chips unique is only of value to self found. I wish more cards gave access to decent but not insane items tbh.
League just started, you are level 5 running on the ledge, you want Storm cloud

Situation 1: You try to buy 5 thunderous Skies cards, waste 10mins to find each ones, in the end you are trailing behind

situation 2: you directly buy stormcloud because its a low unique that easily drops and save tonnes of time

but if league isnt starting, if its actually Mid league, you can... again just buy one because its fucking cheap

ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

We have 1/90 of a mirror already. It is called an exalted orb in the temp leagues. Those exalts are broken down many different ways, including an irrelevant 1/10 card.

We can sell pieces of a chaos. There is a divination card called Rain of Chaos...which well..rains. It is an 8th of a chaos orb and irrelevant.
It never rains for me, what am I doing wrong?

You're being too subjective here. Im talking precedent.

They already set the precedent when they created a Barter System.

This isn't about me, it's about the average player. The average player trades up their low currency for higher currency, and higher currency for the gear and gems they want.

Anyone who plays so infrequently such that collecting alteration orbs for their utility is a serious consideration has a whole host of other things to worry about in this game before they even BEGIN to worry about what div cards are doing.
