We are talking about complete negation of skill and item investment in a fucking RPG game, just let that sink a little and maybe you can wake up from the slumber.

Can you even in the slightest comprehend what im trying to say? How foundamentals of RPG are thronw to the trash?

Ironically, the whole genre of ARPGs was accused by RPG purists of "throwing the fundamentals of RPGs in the trash" specifically because you can defeat challenges with player skill that your character should find impossible.

All those people e.g. beating Diablo 2 with white gear only, or spending zero skill points? To an RPG purist, absolute anathema. To an ARPG enthusiast, mad skills.

To sum it all up, traps taking % life is stupid and it should be a # of hp. K ty bye

WTF? Ive completed whole campaigns with the power of riddle solving and conversation only, its in the RPGs where you can literally do everything without gear, but your character choices ALWAYS mattered. Defeating a game without spending skill points means that the game is extremely easy or you know it extremely well, skill points exist for the whole purpose to make the players choices and character to feel important, if you do not need them or they are nullified then there is a problem. ARPG is RPG with more action aka more combat and less story.

I don't think as highly of someone that relies on skill investment to nullify content. If damage nodes are made useless by some mechanic (reflect? Diablo 2 had inmunities too), so be it.

Your fundamentals of RPG are subjective, not something set on stone (see Final Fantasy for many counterexamples).

At this point, you are grasping at straws. Stick to "the labyrinth is awful" and less to sophistry.

Are you even seeing what you are writing? So its ok to have some content completely nullify your choices? Choices that you made to give your character personality and some theme? And who talked about our choices should completely nullify content? Dont make up things that dont exist or never have been mentioned before and put words in other peoples mouth. We are talking about that our choices should matter and how traps completely negate them and you turned that around? Are you serious? Are you trying to troll or what?

What kind of mentality is "so be it"? and did you really mentioned the worst part of D2 gameplay as an argument to support what only can be seen as thick-mindness?

"My" foundamentals? RPG = Role-playing game. Players in a role-playing game makes choices that affect the story and combat. There is no "my" foundamentals, thats basically the foundation of RPG. And because it seems that you are rather young and inexperienced (either that or foolish and ignorant) making statements like those, thats also why the labyrinth resembles more the arcade playstyle of other games (mainly from 80' and 90') than what RPG is. Its a content where only your attack choices matter (similar to how in Contra your weapon choices mattered but you only had 1 life = 1 coin). Also what counterexamples are you talking about? Name them dont speak nonsense, some people stoped playing with consoles at their 10th birthday.

Lastly, i've talked sophistry to appeal to humans not white knight bots, their software is not sophisticated enought to grasp even the basics. No need to feel exluded.

P.S. Ive found your past responses hilarious and worthy of a pat in the back for trying but the most recents one are way too passive-aggressive to go on unresponded. Dont force your luck in matters you clearly lack the experience and knowledge to have a toe to toe conversation.

P.S.S. Playing DnD for almost 15 years, Pathfinder fanatically from its publication, campaigns in WoD setting from 2008, and M&M (mutants and masterminds) from 2009 or 2010, its the first time i see someone so blatantly and ignorantly dismissing what RPG stands for. A fucking disgrace for the genre and PoE all at once.

You are a RPG purist, I get it. I choose to rely on my manual skills rather than gear and skill points, thanks. I have a choice. You don't (because for some reason won't use regen).

Stick to playing Dungeon and Dragons and let action games be action games.

Your skill investments are not sacred, sometimes the game just nulifies some parts of your skill set for the added challenge (or at least for variety).

I just logged in to say that I agree 100% with Regulator.

The Labyrinth has stuffed this wonderful game right up.

For those who say: "you aren't forced to run it" my answer is, bullsh!t!

Of course we have to run it, those Ascendancy points are vital to character development.

However, gating those points and skills behind a stupid Super Mario trap fest was the *worst* thing GGG could have done to this game.

I hate the labyrinth with a passion. Everything about it turns me off running it.

As a matter of fact, I am incapable of running it. Even with a map.

Almost every day on Reddit I see a map posted up on the fastest safest route through it.

Players are running the lab in around 5-10 minutes. Farming the lab for loot and enchantments.

No....the lab isn't hard, it's really easy for some players to run it repeatedly over and over.

But the labyrinth in a arpg style game? Crazy!

I have to ask this:

If the labyrinth was separated from the Ascendancy points and enchantments and was a optional part of this game, with only the loot drops, how many would want to run it more than once???

How many of you players farm Malachai?

Not many, I would guess. Because it isn't pleasant, or fun.

But even Malachai in his little red arena is still in the theme of an rpg game.

The labyrinth is NOT! It is completely out of place in an arpg.

WHY...WHY do players that quit feel the need to rage post and swear at GGG for not liking PoE anymore? If you don't like PoE then just stop playing. No need to waste forum space. Nobody cares that you can't beat Normal Izaro.

Remember... this isn't the arpg you are looking for. Move along... move along.

2 things

1. YOU don't care. I do. So thanks for your promise not to talk for me anymore.

2. POE USED TO BE the game they were looking for. GGG has fucked that up for them by introducing this divisive, poorly-implemented, poorly-supported-by-lack-of-accurate-mouse-pathing shitstorm we call the lab.
Quoting Saltychipmunk:
...I look at the new act 5 boss where you have to hide behind the statues to survive the bullet hell and all I can think is... how the fuck are zombies going to survive that?

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.

Just for curiosity: Are you playing in predictive? I don't have that problem at all, but I imagine ye olde desync can fuck you.
