I felt like you, I really don't like using a buffer-BV to get Power Charges. Just buy a cheap 6L and use the support gem to get a Power Charge. I didn't spend to much currency while leveling up and by the time i hit lvl 82 I had enough to get a 6L (not the best but still a 6L). I'm still running maps bellow Tier 10 so I don't know how it will hold up later, but as of now DPS is not the issue. The Warlords Mark I generate through Blasphemy for now, very convenient. Never been close to dying yet.

PS: I'd like to mention that this guide is really awesome. Came back after 3-4 years of absence and followed this guide from scratch. Still using parts of this build with a few variations on the tree/gems (DPS is so high right now with this build that you can afford to go more defensive, at >Tier 10 maps).

I'm using CWDT+BV+PCOC+Increased crit and it is generating power charges smootly for me.

Really, CWDT+BVsupport sux :s
- Either u cast it manually (and u can do it with Curse on Hit + Warlod => go MoM "for free")
- Either u don't wanna do it and u forget about power charges and MoM (imo)

Edit : And btw, I was struggling with power charges too and I'm now at 95% uptime with 4 charges after taking out IncreaseAoE from my main BV. I guess I was klilling whites before they were even hit by my lower-ranged support-BV !

What about adding second cwdt with molten shell for additional protection?

Having to recast that curse on hit setup every 10 seconds simply ruins the fun of this build for me =( everything else is nice but that freaking recast just MEHHH!

Well,

the conversion Vinktar is BIS but expensive.
I use the res-pen Vinktar with PtL and it's build changing ;)

And it's still an 100c Item. But absolute worth it.

i 6 linked my carcass then start to chaos recipe etc for vinktar, phys to lighting cheapest one was 6 ex and others around 6.5 after 1 day cheapest was 7ex and tonight cheapest is 8 ex in poe.trade it is some kind of black market i think

How do you have such high cast speed unbuffed? My cast speed unbuffed is at 3.95, I was wondering where in the world are you getting all that cast speed from.

for ppl got sick of casting secondary bv. simply use orb of storm curse setup with pcoc .its leads to 1 time casting and large no of time creating power charge more effective than bv in my opinion. it made my life easy
