Thanks for Orb of Storms, it's amazing!

I'd like to thank the devs for Orb of Storms. You've introduced a skill of which I thought I would probably have no real use for, and now it's become a big part of my build!

I've been building myself a witch with high elemental crit damage plus double curses. Before Ascendancy was I using the Whispers of Doom node (very top left on the tree). The Occultist Ascendancy class then came with just that - double curses - and it allowed me to regain 5 skill points. But aside from that was I rather disappointed from the 2.2 release, because of the tons of bugs it brought with it. I still can't finish the labyrinth, because of my graphics card locking up hard during Izaro fights (I blame bad shader code for it).

Looking at the other new things and playing around with the new skills could I not find too much usefulness in these at first. They are skills like many before them, they do some damage, so not all that new. Especially with Orb of Storms was I very sceptic... It's damage effectiveness is almost inexisting, it comes with a cooldown, it has to be cast manually and of course it's stationary. So of how much use can it be?!

But when I saw how fast Orb of Storms can produce power charges was I simply amazed! Each of its lighting bolts counts as a separate hit and so it's capable of producing multiple power charges at once when dropped into a pack of monsters! In the simplest form (2L) Orb of Storms + Power Charge On Critical is it capable of producing as many as 4 power charges per second! Linked with Faster Casting (increasing the pulse rate of the orb) and/or Increased Area of Effect and/or Increased Critical Strikes is it producing them even faster.

So now I'm using it to kick-start my power charge pool as well as to hold them during boss fights and so it's become a great synergy to my other skills.

I use it to dual-curse. Also works very well. It is like a castable, immortal Blasphemy totem.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

I am already using Arc with Curse On Hit for this very purpose. I don't even have to aim very hard to apply double curses and because OoS is stationary do I still prefer Arc for this. I just found it inconvenient to rebuild power charges once I had lost them (i.e. due to a larger gap on a map or while having to walk back or while evading a boss for too long). With Power Charge On Critical does OoS work almost like Enduring Cry does for producing endurance charges and that I find is a rather new and useful feature.

I think Ball Lightnign is best for Curse on hit .

I think ball lightning is better for curse on hit definitely! the projectile + having built in aoe means it's total area is just massive. But if you tend to be in melee range often orb of storms can be better and can do stuff like elemental overload a bit better than ball lightning.

Though imo if you're melee all the time something like cwdt+blade vortex+curse on hit+curse is easiest if you have the spare gem socket since the duration on blade vortex is very long so it probably has highest 'mini-blasphemy' uptime and it's entirely automatic.

I really like utility skills in PoE :D

Yeah, I really like Orb of Storms

Orb of Storms-Powercharge on crit-Increased crit-culling Strike is my go to. Run it in my Hierophant's boosts (2% life leech)

Oh, Culling Strike sounds good. I need to give it a try.

I did play around with Orb of Storms + ... + Knockback for a while and it kind of creates a
personal space, but I never really felt like I needed to have it.
Because Ball Lightning is my main skill, OOS is better for curse on hit. It is faster to apply curses to a larger area, and more consistent against bosses. I have quite some AOE on the skill tree, and on top of that OOS starts shooting out stuff like crazy once I use Ball Lightning inside. Furthermore it hits more often - which is important to me because then it crits more often, triggering my Elemental Overload. I see that it is not the right thing for everyone, but for me, being non-crit and using Ball Lightning, it is ideal.

I find OOS zap range is quite OK so as the curse range, no worry on my side as a Spark caster.
Seriously best utility spell ever played, help me gain power charge and curse so fast with just 4-link... If only I can 6-link it with another curse & crit chance, but my gear setup can't have 2x 6 sockets :p
