Windows 10 Memory Leak Fixed
Thank you.
Wtf, a public apology? GGG is a class act, do what you want to the game, I'll keep supporting you |

This is great news. I'm not sure if this affects my performance with Wine on Linux yet, but I'll do some testing to see if the progressive stuttering I was having is gone now.
(Also, if we ever get a native linux version of PoE I'll happily buy a highest tier supporter pack again, up to a maximum of $1000) ;) Last edited by carkasjak#7673 on Mar 22, 2016, 10:55:06 AM

u should be making a 64bit architecture client instead of tryin to update complete trash 32bit tech, were not in 03 nemore time to move on...if people dont have 64bit systems by 2016 to bad...ur having the same problem that blizzard and d3 is having, since they wanted to accommodate everyone including people that wanted to play on a commodore 64...dont make worthless updates....create the client on 64bit...and if u want to accommodate people that r stuck in 03 then have a choice between 32 and 64bit for us who have a real gaming machine

" Lol what? How is GGG a group of amateurs? They are a company with paid employees are they not? |

Windows, the only Operating System that gets worse with each version.. >_<

" They are in no way amateurs. I think he meant he's impressed with their quality as a relatively new/growing company. You get the point, even though GGG has a couple years already Last edited by Khyroku#3385 on Mar 22, 2016, 11:57:43 AM

" Well only if i consider them amateurs i can justify that it took them 1 month to admit that there is a problem to fix. And all after beta testing. Not to mention performance on conditions like ground effects, many mobs, explosions and so on. If i consider them proffesional game developers, they completely fail compared to other pro companies. I'm not talking about the content of the game, but client stability and engine performance. This game is stuck in 2000. |

" this and the very odd static noise in the background makes me think this is related to openal. i'm running this game on wine staging 1.9.5 and had never had any such crashes before 2.1. now i'm encountering out of memory crashes every 30-60 minutes. and also having AWFUL lags when a lot of mobs appear on the screen. there gotta be some connection. i don't think this is really a windows 10 only issue either... unless you got multiple memory leaks by now. " Why ? POE memory requirement should really by so high to take 4GB+ memory so 64bit client will not work much better. x86-64 is really 64bit EXTENDED architecture, it was extended mostly because of memory limitation to 4GB. I think better enhancement for POE client is D3D11+ multi-threaded renderer, because game work for me same on lowest settings as on highest, almost always eating 100% of one CPU core and little of another. Offloading more task from CPU to GPU will make more CPU time for other task so it will run much smoother. Also maybe XAudio2 instead of OpenAL ? I'm using OpenAL Soft myself, because it renders sounds better and uses WASAPI, and default OpenAL renderer ie. wrap_oal.dll is only simple DirectSound wrapper. |
