That was another option I am considering, not sure why I didn't put it in the single target section :) So far it looks pretty average with very poor targetting issues but I haven't got any of my damage nodes yet :) Will update when I know more but I have a feeling bladefall will still just be strictly better despite the awkward placement now.

yea. i might also try blast rain with conc effect or something.
have to ask why we use controlled destruction. there have to be a huge benefit or mechanic
with this gem I cant understand why we use it.

I run now with ele focus and deal much more dmg (thats the appearance for me)
I dont shock anymore but shock inceases dmg only by 50% now I have 100% crit more which is alot better.

Very strange some hidden mechanic here with this controlled destrucion ?

That is not quite how controlled destruction works. Remember that increased/reduced is additive, and more/less is multiplicative. I.e. the 100% reduced crit chance on controlled destruction translates to ~8% lower crit chance (e.g. 75% to 68%). This is traded off for the additional more multiplier on the gem (which is similar to the amount you get from elemental focus).

On the other hand, shocks increase damage taken by 50%, so essentially a 50% more damage multiplier when it is applied, although this is not applied to the tool tip.

So elemental focus gives a 40%ish more damage multiplier and no shocks. Controlled destruction gives a 40%ish more damage multiplier, with another 50% more damage multiplier from shocks for the trade off of a little crit :)
Would you use Assasin or Saboteur as Ascendency class in 2.4 ?

i wonder if itd be better to swap out controlled destruction for increased crit damage and then spec out of some crit on the tree and stick it into more dmg? if we get so much crit already, that might be more dmg overall.

Nothing has really changed, so I still think Assassin is the better choice.

Well we do not cap out crit with the current build, even without controlled destruction. You would need a lot more damage nodes to get similar damage to the 40% more multiplier from controlled destruction - it really is a very good support for most crit spell builds.
Noob questions: Doesn't controlled destruction cancel out all the crit we're getting in the passive tree?
IGN: Redheat
Would call of the Brotherhood work with that build ?
