Shaper of desolation: This passive in the elementalist is just bonkers, it makes any damage either shock,chill and ignite during those 4 seconds, So being lightning and having the beacon of ruin which lets my status ailments spread with lightning warp is just the funniest thing ive seen, so if you move from pack to pack you can pretty much keep the passive up and keep shocking, igniting entire packs which results in a massive damage. Now i've tried and make it full fire so i can double dip the fire damage more. Taking avatar of fire, using a call of the brotherhood and using the cold to fire conversion gem.

Bandits: Oak, Alira, Passive

Elementalist Passive: Go for Beacon of ruin first, then paragon of calamity.

What support gems do I use if I only have a 4 link

A very interesting build, but i dont understand why do double conversion for your damage? Im not very good at math, but it seems you first lose 25% dmg while converting to fire, later you gain it back by using cold to fire, but since since Elementalist can ignite/shock with any damage type, why not just use lightning damage and other gem instead of cold to fire? I see you only took few fire damage nodes from the tree, so i guess instead you could take elemental damage nodes, which would scale both initial hit and the burn damage.
And also do you really need that much cast speed from the tree? What am i missing here?

Just a quick question on the merits of Beacon over EleProlif gem? Is it to save on links?

50 lightning to cold (Brotherhood Ring)
50 lightning to fire (Avatar of Fire)

= 0% lightning / 50% cold / 50% fire

then 100% of the remaining cold damage is converted to fire

50 cold to fire (gem)
50 cold to fire (Avatar of Fire)



= 0% lightning / 0% cold / 100% fire
