[2.2] Inquisitor - Delete from Above - Triple Totem Storm call
Hi! Loving the guide and am working on running up a character to follow it. I have three questions, however:
- Why are you taking the Careful Planning jewel, and which jewel slot are you placing it in? - What do you think of using the Kikazaru ring (20% reduced effect of Curses on you) and/or Self-Flagellation jewel (10-20% increased Damage per Curse on you) to mitigate the downsides of using the Soul Mantle? - Would Herald of Thunder be a significant buff if it could be made to work mana reservation-wise? It strikes me that if we were to take the Sovereignty nodes (14% reduced mana reservation, not to mention a 10% buff to our other auras) that might make it possible. Even more so if we were to wear the Alpha's Howl and slot our auras (+enlighten) in there. To do this, swap out Enduring Cry with some other linked gem (maybe Faster Casting for Vaal Haste?). Here's a mana reservation calc laying this out, which would bring us to a 70% total reservation using all three skills (so called because Herald of Thunder is not an aura). https://poe.mikelat.com/#e2b8P5h/Z0EFbJo Last edited by MorroAlpha#1813 on Mar 15, 2016, 12:38:53 PM

" 1. Careful Planning This build is played with crit dagger, crit dagger need at least 100 dex(out of my head). Using careful planning is the best way to get the dex you need.(It also allows you to level faster attacks/whirling blades to a higher level, resuling in better movement). Its possible to obtain gear that gives you the dex you need, however most of the time finding such items are rare.(It goes in the slot beneath mind over matter) 2. Kikazuru and Self-Flagellation To cut it short, its not worth it, because the idea is to never have a curse on you and use your warding flasks well. You simply die if you get the wrong curse in some situations. e.g.You get vulnerability right before an unexpected melee hit. You are simply dead. Its just very very risky and rng, it can work though. I prefer to not die, it just makes life simpler (: . 3.Herald of Thunder Herald of Thunder gives ~800 dmg flat on fully leveled gems, that means 800*cast speed of totems * numberOfTotems e.g. cast speed of totems is 3.0(a realistic value) and numberOfTotems is 3 800*3*3 we come up with a 7.2k dps gain. Also keep in mind, since your Totems kill the enemy, the Thunder that strike nearby enemies from Herald of Thunder will not procc. Now the question is, what do we lose for gaining 7.2k dps? -max life and resistences from the head we swap with Alpha's Howl -damage and/or max life from the nodes we have to leave out for the soverignity nodes. To answer your question, in my opinion its not a significant buff, and results in lost max life, which is the bread and butter in terms of survival for this build. Hey, nice build :) Giving this a shot. In which order would you take ascendancy points ? They all seem really strong.

I have another question: What are your thoughts on the Storm Weaver nodes? How would those calculate out on our CotB-enhanced SC?

" In my first draft of this build i actually went for the Storm Weaver nodes and i still think they are really good for this build. I dropped them because the build already does enough damage and i prefer having a big life pool. How it calculates is pretty straight forward, i give a quick example but you can read it yourself here http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Damage_conversion lets say storm call does 100 damage, cotb converts it to 50 lightning damage and 50 cold damage. What happens if we now go for the storm weaver node? lightning damage portion: 50*1,25= 62,5 //+25% lightning damage cold damage portion. 50*1,25= 62,5 //+25% cold damage combined damage: 62,5+62,5 = 125 The reason it plays out this way is because bonuses apply AFTER the conversion takes place. |
