The Labyrinth is Amazing, for the love of god don't nerf it.

From my perspective the labyrinth is a total bore. I thought Mario Brothers was a boring game and so didn't play it. I love PoE and have played it almost daily for years now. However, the labyrinth is not an ARPG type game. I find the labyrinth boring frustrating and just bad. Unfortunately this is now part of the game that I really enjoyed playing. If I wanted to play a labyrinth style game I would be playing something else besides PoE.

The Labryinth is great, It gives you a change of pace from mapping and releveling, it adds a different challenge to the game. If they had replaced mapping with it then it would be a different story but as a side area it is great, Log in hmm Do i want to farm currency/items, grind xp, advance my toon, run atziri, avatar of thunder etc. It gives you a CHOICE of how you feel like playing that day if you really get that bent because its hard content or you don't like the mechanics then use one of the alternate methods to get what you want. Don't want to run the lab 100's of times for a specific enchant well then by all means farm the shit outta dried lake for currency and then buy it. Its no different than have a toon that can't run uber and saving up for acuitiys etc.

But for the love of god PLEASE stop wanting shit to get nerfed and made into a mindless hold one skill down clear entire map in 4 mins and move onto the next. That is NOT fun. Leveling past 90 is not a fun thing it is a boring grind, Ohh ya its called GRINDING gear games for a reason ppl.

Would be better to put those points behind for example Malachai, instead of lab. Then would actually have a choice to make, rather than being forced to swallow something that feels completely different from what this used to feel like. Thinking many did not play this because of features that were not in this game, but those what this game was about. This would not kill the fun of lab in any way, if some wishes to run it, and would please those not liking how it is now. Gives no optional choice really, as many say... those 6 points too powerful to miss completely. Atziri, Avatar of Thunder, etc are optionals, and can get hands on those minor things granted by them anyways, even without running them.

Loving how people now feel sort of "saved" from grinding, "can now do something else" they say... then again, it is called GRINDING gear games, as You stated.

Some of us actually started playing this game for what it is, and has been for a long time... All were not bored to it, this is not boring game to those who don't kill the fun for themselves, and copy a build. But those people now need to play totally different feeling game, and some now quitting for same reason.

Was waiting for this patch a lot, and content is great... But cannot play so much, now would need some 2-3 weeks of gaming time I can use, only to those not-PoE-feeling labyrinths, in order to re-use characters.

I think the real insight is that some people really like the Labryinth... so if we nerf it for everyone else... then those players won't like it either anymore...

Which suggests the Labyrinth should be optional content with good rewards... that just don't happen to the be the Ascendancy points.


If you move Ascendancy points to act completion... (Yes... merciless Malachai... hmm...) Then you can actually make the Labyrinth challenging without having to cater to those who don't want to even do it at all.
100% agree with OP.

If anything needs to be changed about the lab, it's that the little areas behind some of the puzzles and traps don't have enough rewards. The entire labyrinth should be chock-full of chests and strongboxes that you have to get through traps and puzzles to open.

Right now, however, the incentive is to play the lab like you play the rest of the game -> run through as fast as possible to get your enchant/points and get out.

I think we need some more incentive to spend more time in the rest of the lab.
Side areas are way high level than the nearby zones, and thus a lot more difficulty to complete, yet they provide Passive Skill Points as a reward.

Obviously it makes sense that another optional content, with far more rewarding Points, be even more difficult.


It's just par for the course, yet entitled people think it should be handed out for free..

Totally agree with OP.
I think it is about right as far as difficulty. I just wish it was a lvl 70 so we could at least get a chaos in there.
